Baker Mayfield is a new man.

The Tampa Bay Bucs quarterback is set to head into the 2024 season looking like we’ve never seen him before.

This week, the veteran quarterback debuted his new look, shaving just about everything from his face, from his beard to his mustache. The results had him looking completely unrecognizable.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield revitalized his career in 2023 and was rewarded handsomely for it.

In March 2024, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed their resurgent starter to a three-year deal worth up to $115 million, with $50 million guaranteed, CBS reported at the time.

 

Mayfield confirmed his return, saying, “I wanted a chance to come back. I love coach [Todd] Bowles and the staff. I’m happy to be here, and I want to win more in the postseason.”

ESPN further broke down his deal as $30 million in 2024, $30 million in 2025, including $20 million guaranteed, and $40 million in 2026. Baker Mayfield will also receive $5 million per year in incentives.

Baker Mayfield Puts New Life In His Career During 2023 Season

Things had been a bit rough for Mayfield after the Cleveland Browns decided to get rid of him and replace him with Deshaun Watson.

He would play on three different teams before he finally found his long-term home.

He is coming off a career year with Tampa, with highs in passing yards (4,044) and touchdowns (28), while throwing just ten interceptions in 17 games.

He also led the team to the playoffs and had them winning their Wild-Card matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Josh Jacobs has discussed the expectations regarding his new role with the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers signed the former Las Vegas Raiders star this offseason and will pay a significant sum as a result, so it appears they will be asking a lot more from him than he’s used to.

Jacobs spoke to NFL Network about his expanded role this week and revealed he is looking forward to showing a different offensive dimension in a Packers uniform as he should be doing a lot more route running and catching.

“Just to be able to come out and actually show I can catch the ball more,” he explained. “Be able to run real routes. Not just that, but trusting me enough to pick up protections. It’s just so special when you’ve got a guy like Jordan Love back there, you can’t just load the box on every play…I think it’s going to be the biggest help for me this year.”
