With the 2024 NBA Draft on the door, most of the focus is on LeBron James’ son, Bronny. Bronny James impressed in the Draft combine to attract some interest despite being deemed as a well short-of a first round talent. Though his father was impressed by his son’s maturity to handle the media pressure due to the Lakers great’s name.

On a recent episode of the “Mind The Game” podcast, JJ Redick asked LeBron if he had talked to his son about the current situation. “You know, he’s definitely not his dad. And I’m not him. I wouldn’t be able to handle the scrutiny and all the things that he got going on, you know, at his age, at his level and with social media, like I didn’t have social media to deal with,” said LeBron.

He further added that the pressure back in his days was different as he was tipped to become the “Chosen One”, but for Bronny that’s not the case.

LeBron James Wants Son Bronny to Follow His Own Path

During the show, JJ Redick also praised Bronny’s poise regarding the situation around him. Being the son of LeBron has its added pressure, but according to the 20-time NBA All-Star, his son has already figured it out.

“Yeah, I think he’s figuring it out. I wanted him to kind of figure it out on his own where he see himself fit in the NBA or where he see what his comp looks like to see him mention guys like Derek White, Jrue Holliday, a few other guys, Marcus Smart, and our league, Davion Mitchell, these are guys who come in and for a team that’s trying to win championships, a team that wants to win every night, these are the players,” said LBJ.
