‘Delusional, always a victim’: Jason Whitlock scolds Angel Reese for crying foul about Indiana Fever’s ‘special whistle’
Sports commentator Jason Whitlock blasted Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese after she disagreed with a flagrant-1 foul called on her. With 2:53 minutes left in the third quarter of the Chicago Sky-Indiana Fever game, Indiana’s Clark went to the basket and Reese followed her, hitting the guard in the face as she attempted to block Clark’s shot.
“I think we were playing really hard,” Reese said after the game. “I think we went up strong a lot of times, and we didn’t get a lot of calls. And going back and looking at the film, I’ve seen a lot of calls that weren’t made, and I guess some people got a special whistle. … Regardless of the referees, we’re not going to be denied. Our goal is to win.”
Whitlock clapped back at Reese, calling her out for playing the victim against the media.
“The ‘special whistle’ isn’t what’s interesting,” Whitlock said. “This is: “We’re not going to be denied no matter what you guys try to do. She thinks the media is against her. Delusional. Always a victim.”
In addition to Whitlock, some fans went after the former LSU star for her foul on Clark in Indiana’s 91-83 win.
Angel Reese became second Sky player in altercation with Caitlin Clark
Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky landed in Indianapolis trying to get revenge after losing their first duel against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever 71-70 a couple of weeks ago.
Reese became the second player to star in a controversial moment with Clark. Chennedy Carter’s push of the No. 1 pick in April’s draft during the first game sparked a controversy, and Reese’s foul will probably do the same.
Carter showed a different attitude on Sunday after Caitlin Clark drove to the basket and was met by Dana Evans. Carter didn’t try to act tough against Caitlin and instead lifted her arms to calm things down.

In a recent episode of First Take, host Stephen A. Smith surprised everyone by discussing the challenges faced by Indiana Fever star player Caitlin Clark. While giving his opinion on the criticism surrounding Clark, Smith mentioned a controversial name. The 56-year-old NBA analyst brought up Donald Trump and discussed how race plays a role in Clark’s controversies.
“There’s a broader issue here that can’t be escaped. And that is this: she is a white young lady. And she’s been a magnet in a way that has benefitted the league in ways that others have not, even though their efforts have been worthy and deserving of being as celebrated, if not even more celebrated…. in the end, if you’re white, you’re bright, you’re right, and as a result, the shine comes your way in the eyes of a lot of people in America.” Smith said.
“You have somebody that’s a presidential candidate. What is his claim to fame? Make America Great Again. What have people interpreted that to mean? Make America White Again… what has that led to? A divide. It is not a divide that is created. It is a divide that is illuminated because it highlights and shows that it’s been in existence all along. And It hasn’t gone anywhere.” Smith added.
Caitlin Clark Racism Controversy
After making her debut in the WNBA, Clark has been involved in numerous controversies on a weekly basis. Recently, her fans have been bringing up her name in discussions about racism, misogyny, and homophobia. During an interview, the 22-year-old Fever player was asked about these topics, and she said that her focus was on basketball. Despite Clark ignoring the fans’ actions, another player, Connecticut Sun guard DiJonai Carrington, criticized Clark for ignoring such essential incidents.
