Sharpshooter Caitlin Clark has drawn comparisons to Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry for her ability to shoot from the logo and score from anywhere on the court. However, Peyton Manning believes she has one major flaw: the Indiana Fever rookie is a Kansas City Chiefs fan.

“It’s awesome, and I really enjoyed getting to know Caitlin even more,” said Manning, who was a star in Indianapolis, where Clark now plays her home games. “Throughout this series, she was a guest on our show, the Monday night show, last year. She’s a Chiefs fan. I forgive her for that, but she said she did grow up kind of watching me play and she’s going to love Indianapolis. I gave her all of my contacts at the airport, at St. Elmo’s, and it’s a great place for her to play. I’m looking forward to watching her.”

The 22-year-old Clark, who grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, has been a lifelong Chiefs fan. In November last year, she told Eli and Peyton Manning that from a young age, she would join her family in making an annual pilgrimage from Des Moines to Kansas City to watch a Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium.

Clark has been treated to the genius of Andy Reid and the heroics of Patrick Mahomes in recent seasons, making her fandom even more rewarding.

This team from Missouri has established itself as the NFL’s latest dynasty and is now bidding for an unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat after securing back-to-back championships in the past two seasons.

Like Taylor Swift, Caitlin Clark was at Arrowhead Stadium last season to cheer on the Chiefs and was in attendance for their Christmas Day loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Clark posted tributes to Kansas City when they hoisted the Lombardi Trophy after February’s Big Game. The team repaid the favor when Clark’s Iowa squad faced UConn in the Final Four of this year’s NCAA Tournament.

The reigning world champs posted a childhood photo of Clark wearing Chiefs gear on social media, expressing their support with the caption, “You cheered for us. Now it’s our turn. All of Chiefs Kingdom is rooting for you tonight.”
