Fans Concerned About Caitlin Clark’s Costly Habit After Nine Games

Caitlin Clark is starting to get more frustrated about the level of physicality she has to endure in the WNBA, and that frustration is starting to cost her team.

On Thursday night, Clark and the Indiana Fever battled the Seattle Storm. Late in the first half, the former Iowa superstar drained a 30-footer. As she went to the other side of the court, she started exchanging words with Seattle Storm’s Victoria Vivians.

Their intense altercation escalated to the point where Clark and Vivians bumped into each other. Both players received a technical foul for their actions.

It’s Clark’s third technical foul through nine WNBA games. That’s a Draymond Green pace.

Three technical fouls through nine games is a lot. Caitlin Clark’s costly habit is starting to become an issue.

“Clark back into the league lead for technical fouls with that one in the second quarter. Cloud and Taurasi have to wait until tomorrow night to try to catch up. #WNBA,” one fan said on X.

Hopefully, she can keep her composure more often moving forward.

The Fever trail the Storm 47-41 at halftime. Clark has 12 points, three assists and two rebounds.

Angel Reese takes a shot at Caitlin Clark before DELETING tweet after Chicago Sky beat New York Liberty

Angel Reese appeared to take a dig at Caitlin Clark in a hastily deleted tweet after Chicago Sky beat New York Liberty 90-81 on Thursday night.

Clark, who was selected by the Indiana Fever with the first overall pick at this year’s WNBA Draft after her historic college career with Iowa, has got off to a nightmare start in the big leagues after losing her first five games.

Wednesday night’s defeat to Seattle Storm continued the 22-year-old’s torrid start to life in the WNBA, but it has been quite the opposite for Reese.

The former LSU college star has helped the Chicago Sky win two of their first three outings of the season, scoring 35 points in the process.

And following their latest victory over the Liberty, Reese seemingly fired shots at Clark in a now-deleted post on X.

‘And that’s on getting a WIN in a packed area not just cause of one player on our charter flight. #SKYTOWN,’ she wrote, with a blowing-a-kiss emoji at the end.

Clark has been credited with the surge of interest in the WNBA after being picked first by Indiana in April’s Draft – the same event where Reese was picked by Chicago.

The two were also big rivals at college, with Reese playing at LSU while Clark was at Iowa.

Reese and her Sky team did not have charter flights at the start of the season, but Clark and Iowa did.

Clark and the Fever have lost their first five games of the season.

And speaking Thursday, Reese hit out at suggestions women’s basketball was surging off the back of Clark alone.

‘It’s not just one person, I think people don’t realize that [because] the narrative out there is that just one person changing the game,’ she said.

‘It’s a lot of us. There’s so many great players and it’s been long overdue and just being able to see that our impact has been able to change the game.

‘I love it for us all, and we’re just going to continue to keep going.’

In a 2023 game between LSU and Iowa,

Reese memorably did WWE legend John Cena’s ‘U Can’t See Me’ gesture in front of Clark – which the latter previously made famous in a game against Louisville.

The Tigers star also looked at her college rival and pointed at her ring finger late in the fourth quarter.

In ESPN’s recently released Full Court Press docuseries, Clark shared her thoughts on the media storm that followed Reese’s celebration.

‘That’s the only thing people wanted to talk about when we just went on this magical run and united so many people, and that like was frustrating to me,’ she shared.

Iowa coach Lisa Bluder also chimed in on the subject, saying: ‘The media was trying to create a circus out of racial things, out of trying to make hatred come up, and she [Clark] just wouldn’t let it happen.’
