The LA Lakers tried to achieve two objectives with a single move during the 2024 Draft on Thursday night. By selecting Bronny James with the 55th pick, they also strengthened their chances of retaining his father, LeBron James, with the team. While many have criticized their decision to draft the young guard, Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green believes in Bronny’s bright future in the league.

Recently on “The Draymond Green Show,” the host shared his insights about the newest member of the LA side. “I actually think Bronny is going to end up being a better pro than a lot of these players in this draft,” said the 4-time champion.

Highlighting Bronny’s potential and basketball vision, Draymond reminded how the 19-year-old made a came back after his cardiac arrest. With a lot of optimism, the veteran concluded, “I’m just gonna take the bet. This kid works hard, he has LeBron James’ DNA, and I’m gonna take the bet on that.”

Bronny is not as elite as LeBron was when he joined the NBA. However, Draymond, along with others, sees him making his own identity in the future with his unique playing style despite having the star surname attached to him.

A majority of NBA enthusiasts anticipated Bronny’s selection to the Lakers because of many factors working behind it.

Former Warriors Executive Reveals Strategy to Draft Bronny James

LeBron James might not be involved in his eldest son Bronny’s draft, but his agent Rich Paul allegedly played a huge role.

Former Warriors executive Bob Myers disclosed how Paul manipulated the other teams so they didn’t pick Bronny. According to Myers, “Rich Paul is calling teams; don’t take Bronny James. He’s telling them, don’t take him. If you take him, he’s going to Australia. So he has a plan, and he has a place.”

Paul’s strategy finally worked, as the other franchises withdrew their potential interest in the former USC guard while the Lakers acquired him.

Now that Bronny’s spot is confirmed, everyone eagerly awaits LeBron’s decision about his future.
