Former NFL quarterback Brett Favre took a dig at a politician who’s long been suggested as a possible replacement for Joe Biden.

Brett Favre is among the high-profile former athletes who have been vocal about supporting Donald Trump, the former U.S. president and 2024 Republican nominee. Before the 2020 election, Favre took to Twitter (now “X”) and endorsed Trump.

Biden’s performance at his presidential debate with Trump last week has led to many calls for the Democratic Party to find a replacement. CNN recently heard from a Democratic lawmaker that “a large and increasing group of House Democrats” have become worried about Biden’s candidacy.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has been widely mentioned as a possible replacement for Biden. But let’s just say that Brett Favre is unsurprisingly no fan of Newsom, judging by this tweet (WARNING: CONTAINS Language That Is NSFW):

Brett Favre has also golfed with Trump numerous times, posing for a photo during their round together in 2020. Several months later, Favre offered his endorsement of Trump on Twitter.

If Biden ends up staying in the race, 2024 will mark the first presidential election rematch since 1956. That year, Republican Dwight D. Eisenhower defeated Democratic nominee Adlai Stevenson II by a landslide to retain his position in office.

Brett Favre Among Many Former Athletes Who Support Trump

Favre is far from the only notable former pro athlete who publicly supported Donald Trump. In 2020, Hockey Hall of Famer Bobby Orr and golfing legend Jack Nicklaus endorsed Trump days before the election.

Former NFL running back Herschel Walker, head coach and tight end Mike Ditka, star MLB pitcher Curt Schilling and Boston Celtics legend Bob Cousy have also endorsed Trump in the past.

The 2024 U.s. presidential election will be held on Nov. 5.

Josh Jacobs has discussed the expectations regarding his new role with the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers signed the former Las Vegas Raiders star this offseason and will pay a significant sum as a result, so it appears they will be asking a lot more from him than he’s used to.

Jacobs spoke to NFL Network about his expanded role this week and revealed he is looking forward to showing a different offensive dimension in a Packers uniform as he should be doing a lot more route running and catching.

“Just to be able to come out and actually show I can catch the ball more,” he explained. “Be able to run real routes. Not just that, but trusting me enough to pick up protections. It’s just so special when you’ve got a guy like Jordan Love back there, you can’t just load the box on every play…I think it’s going to be the biggest help for me this year.”
