Many NBA fans consider Michael Jordan to be the greatest basketball player of all time. While the debate still continues to plague the league, it is a must to appreciate Jordan’s efforts in taking the sport to where it is today.
That being said, there are some feats set by the legend that no other basketball player has managed to achieve ever since, even the likes of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Stephen Curry.
Michael Jordan’s NBA championship record that nobody has beaten yet
Michael Jordan is well-known for his remarkable feats in the world of basketball. With his ridiculous dunks and his smooth jumper, Jordan was beyond unstoppable and was far ahead of the players of this time.
While the superstar had many insane records to his name that were either broken or repeated, there is one certain feat that Michael Jordan has entirely to his name and it hasn’t been repeated ever again since the last time Jordan did it. The superstar is the last player in league history to have won the NBA Championship after averaging 30+ points per game in the 1995–96 season.
Michael Jordan averaged 30.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in 82 games in 1995-96. He was selected to play in his tenth All-Star games. He won his fourth MVP award, won the NBA scoring title, his fourth Finals MVP award, and his fourth NBA championship

The feat was first achieved by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the 1970–71 season after he won the title, averaging 31.7 points per game. The other player to have done it is Rick Barry, who did it in 1974–75 while averaging 30.6 points per game.

There have been six instances of the feat and Michael Jordan accounts for the remaining contributions. His Airness’ ridiculous run began in the 1990–91 season, where he won the title while averaging 31.5 points per game.
The following season, Jordan once again repeated his feat, winning the title and averaging 30.6 points per game. In his third consecutive season, Jordan averaged a high of 32.6 points per game. His achievement of the feat in 1995–96 was the last time the feat was witnessed by the league. It has been 28 years and counting since Jordan last achieved the feat and so far no other player has been able to achieve the monumental task, which shows the difficulty of what Jordan has done over the years.
Scottie Pippen claims Michael Jordan is the best NBA player ever
The debate of who is the best basketball player continues to have NBA fans in splits, with one side of the fans choosing the great Michael Jordan while others choose the timeless LeBron James. While there are other favorites, the battle for the GOAT status has always been between these two stars.
In the race for the greatest, Michael Jordan’s teammate and former Bulls’ player Scottie Pippen has picked his player to be the best. Without a doubt, Pippen chose Jordan as his pick for the best player in the NBA. While Pippen has changed his stance on the GOAT status over time, his support for Jordan’s legacy certainly plays a huge role in Jordan’s case for the title, especially considering the glorious history the two stars share.
Admitting his support for Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen said, “You look at the MVP’s he was able to achieve. But I think it was all brought from us being successful as a team. Obviously, someone is going to bring those accolades home. But, yeah, he was the greatest player definitely in basketball.”
Regardless of Pippen’s take, the battle between the fans of both players continues to entertain the NBA community every day, with LeBron continuously defying time with each passing day.
