From day one, Love Island fans Love Island fans were left baffled after claiming that one of the show’s contestants, Munveer Jabbal, had been “missing” from the villa for three episodes.
The recruitment manager, 30, entered the show on a high when he was initially coupled up with Mimii Ngulube – who is now coupled up with Ayo Odukoya – and voted as most likely to be “boyfriend material.”
But, throughout his time in the villa, viewers took to social media to complain over the TV personality’s lack of airtime, with Munveer barely making any appearances on the ITV dating show.

Speaking exclusively to OK!’s Love Island Dumping Debrief – OK!’s weekly video series where the 2024 cash unpack the latest drama from the series – Munveer revealed exactly what he was doing which led to the lack of airtime for him.
“I promise you I was there. I was doing face masks!” Patsy chimed in: “He was cracking on with everyone but me.”
Munveer continued: “She thinks I was getting to know everyone but I wasn’t. I was actually having conversations but there was a lot of drama to begin with and I tend to step back because I’m not a confrontational person. Patsy on the other hand,” he laughs.

Former contestants weighed in, with last year’s star Scott Van-Der-Sluis joking that Munveer was “enjoying a free holiday” after seemingly failing to form a connection with the other islanders.
Despite being coupled up with Patsy Field, the pair appeared to lack any romantic chemistry.
Telling OK! About their relationship and why it fizzled out, Munveer said: “It was moving too quickly for me. I’ve never watched the show before and I said to Patsy, ‘Look, this is crazy. It takes me a little while to get warmed up.’ For me, a snog is a big thing. My mum is watching!”

Patsy adds, “I tried! I said to him, ‘We’re on Love Island!’ Maybe if he’d watched the show, he would have been more snappy.”
He was also seen being friend-zoned by Jess White, who declared that they had no “immediate spark.”
Fans also noticed that the recruitment manager seemed to make more appearances than usual on Saturday’s weekly Unseen Bits, leading to speculation that he is being ‘edited out’ of the main episodes.

It comes as it was revealed that Munveer, from Surrey, has as a surprising link to controversial broadcaster Piers Morgan. The star revealed that he is actually close pals with Piers’s son Spencer.
Asked if Spencer would be surprised to see him on the show, Munveer continued: “I think everyone will be surprised to see me on the show. My immediate network will be like ‘oh fancy seeing you in there.’ I kept it low-key and confidential, the only people who knew were my mum and my dad so I’m sure it’ll come as a surprise to a lot of my close friends for sure.”
