Hollyoaks fans are convinced that Clare Devine is set to make a dramatic return from the dead after actress Gemma Bissix shared a nostalgic video of her time on the soap
Hollyoaks viewers are buzzing with speculation that Clare Devine might be making an epic return from beyond the grave.
Notorious baddie, portrayed by Gemma Bissix, burst onto the Channel 4 drama in 2006, stepping into the shoes previously filled by Samantha Rowley. Clare, the offspring of infamous mob boss Fraser Black, quickly became entangled in a web of major plots.
Gemma took on the role of Clare between 2006 and 2007, then stormed back onto our screens in 2009. For four tumultuous years thereafter, she was at the heart of chaos and scandal in the beloved Cheshire village.
Clare’s stint on Hollyoaks ended in a shocking twist in 2013 when her character met a brutal demiseshe was mowed down by Doctor Browning, courtesy of a shove from Mercedes McQueen.

But whispers of a comeback have been ignited by the actress herself after a cryptic hint on social media. Gemma shared a nostalgic video compilation of her iconic character on Instagram, reports the Daily Star.
Her post, which featured the caption: “Thank you to @dawnsmonroe for this @hollyoaksofficial Wearing my ‘Clare’ red shoes to @ascotracecourse has got me all nostalgic! ! Then this popped up on my notifications! ! “, has set tongues wagging among fans.

On a Hollyoaks Facebook fan page, one viewer speculated: “Gemma Bissix who played the evil Clare Devine has posted a “nostalgic” post with clips of the dangerous Clare. Is Gemma teasing fans for a potential return? .”
Another chimed in: “Maybe Hollyoaks are getting rid of characters to enable better ones to return.” Meanwhile, a third suggested: “She is going to replace Warren as the main villain.”

In a chat about her departure from Hollyoaks, Gemma shared with Digital Spy: “I think at the time, Clare had had so many ups and downs. The character has to expire at some point – you can’t be that evil and not get your comeuppance.”
