The award-winning star appeared to be having a rough night, getting busted in this awkward blunder after he was forced to take the stage to accept an award without his speech.

During the show, cameras panned to Billy, 54, as he stood in the audience enjoying one of many performances at the Tonys.
Jay Z was performing with Alicia Keys and the cast of Hell’s Kitchen.
The Pose star seemed to attempt to sniff his armpits, checking for smell subtly, but was caught.
The moment was not only aired on the live broadcast but made its rounds on social media.
“I know I didn’t just see Billy Porter sniff his armpit on live television,” one fan joked on X.
“Someone give me the gif of Billy Porter sniffing his pitts after the Hell’s Kitchen performance,” another person posted.
“Did Billy Porter just smell his pits?” a third viewer wondered.

Elsewhere in the awards show, Billy was called to the stage to accept an award.
He won the Isabelle Stevenson Award, a philanthropic award given to someone who has made significant contributions on stage and in a charitable capacity.
When the star reached the podium to speak, he realized that he could not find his phone and, therefore, did not have the speech he prepared.
He laughed off the moment, killing time until someone could get him his phone.
“I need my phone. Where’s my speech, baby? Somebody has the phone, somebody has the speech. Let’s get it together,” he said playfully.
Suddenly, a man in a suit appeared on stage with the phone in his hand.
On X, fans had a laugh at the moment while some praised Billy’s poise.
