The basketball lovers were eagerly waiting for the 3rd clash between alleged rivals Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. The game lived up to its expectations, with the latter having the last laugh with her Chicago Sky teammates. Not only did Reese win the game but also managed to make a lasting impression on many including WNBA star A’ja Wilson.

Speaking about Reese’s outstanding performance, the 2-time WNBA champion said, “It’s huge. I feel like I said it around the Super Bowl. I was just like that is going to be Angel’s biggest thing: translation.’ Translating over from college to the pros is just rebounding the basketball… It’s pretty cool to see her flourish in that situation…You don’t see that in a lot of rookies.”

Being an exceptional talent herself, A’ja can identify a budding star when she sees them and Reese is nothing less than that. The Sky dominated the opening quarter but were comfortably outscored in the next two quarters. Then the forward came into the picture, scoring 10 points and grabbing 5 rebounds in the final quarter.

The former LSU forward entertained Chicago’s home crowd with her 25 points and 16 rebounds in the 88-87 narrow victory. With her game-high brilliance, she unlocked a brand-new record.

Angel Reese Set a New Record

Every player dreams of making it big in their rookie season, but not everyone succeeds in doing so. Angel Reese is one of the few who has garnered heaps of praise in her first season for etching her name in the WNBA’s history books.

On Sunday, the 22-year-old added her eighth straight double-double which has never been done before in the league by a rookie. Reese is also the only player after A’ja Wilson (2018) to put up at least 25 points and 15 rebounds in a game in her first season.

NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal has already declared her as the Rookie Of The Year halfway into the season. Now it will be interesting to see whether Reese can actually lay her hand on the prestigious title.

REPORT: New York Knicks’ Star Forward OG Anunoby’s Initial Bidding Price Skyrockets Amid Contract Negotiations

The 2023-24 season has been a season of improvement for the Knicks. After years of failure to reach the playoffs, the NY franchise made back-to-back appearances in the postseason for the first time since 2013. In the off-season the team wants to move forward and the first step to that starts with OG Anunoby’s contract.

The Knicks forward is entering the final year of his contract with the Knicks which he signed with his previous team, the Raptors. Anunoby has a player option in his contract and he can easily ditch the $19 million and hit free agency because he can surely have a better offer elsewhere. To stave off that situation, the Knicks are ready to sign him to a long-term contract. According to Brian Windhorst, a $ 35 million per year deal can be the starting rate for the Briton’s services.

The fee was projected to be $30 million but now with free agency approaching the price jumped quite a bit. However, it won’t be a problem for the Knicks as they’re well below the second apron of luxury tax. With a cap space of -$65 million, even with Anunoby’s new deal, the Knicks can avoid any penalties according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

More so, the franchise values the Knicks’ input. In the absence of Julius Randle, Anunoby became a stalwart alongside Josh Hart in the frontcourt.

Looking Back at OG Anunoby’s Season

Since his move from the Raptors in December, Anunoby made himself at home in New York. Scoring 3 20+ point games in the second half of the regular season, Anunoby made himself aligned with the common goal of chasing the title.
