Caitlin Clark had insult added to possible injury during Saturday’s game between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky.

Indiana went into the contest with a 1-8 record but got their first home win of the season, albeit via the slimmest of margins.

Caitlin Clark: Team USA explains why Clark didn't make Olympic team

Clark was the victim of a nasty body check from Sky shooting guard Chennedy Carter, with the play going viral. Still, it was only adjudged to be a common foul, with Caitlin being awarded a free throw due to the ball still being out of bounds at the time.

Another angle shows an irate Carter calling Clark the “B-word” before decking her, and we don’t mean “Baller.”

Check it out right below:

Clark – who wasn’t all that shaken up by the play, though she must have been shocked as she didn’t see it coming despite the verbal warning – sank a free throw that ended up being crucial as the Fever won by a single point.

Caitlin Clark Discusses Chennedy Carter’s Nasty Body Check

Caitlin Clark spoke to ESPN after her 11-point performance and was asked about the foul.

“Yeah, that’s just not a basketball play,” she said (H/T the New York Post). “But you know I’ve gotta play through it, that’s what basketball is about at this level. I thought we’ve been really physical, we’ve missed some bunnies around the rim, so hopefully those fall in the fourth.”

Since being drafted as the No. 1 overall pick back in April, Clark has been treated to some pretty rough stuff. Hardly a game goes by without the Fever rookie taking a cheap shot.

Still, she’s dealt with the experience quite well and will hope to build on Saturday’s win.

Matas Buzelis Scouting Report: Potential Landing Spots for the G-League’s Sensation Ahead of the 2024 NBA Draft

Matas Buzelis is considered a top-10 prospect in the 2024 NBA Draft, starting Wednesday, June 26.

Standing at 6-foot-10 with a good wingspan, Buzelis has the crucial physical tools in the NBA. His height and length make him a versatile defender and a potential offensive matchup problem. Due to his height, Buzelis often has an advantage when finishing on the move against wing defenders.

Buzelis averaged 2.7 blocks per game in the G League despite being a skinny teenager in a physical environment. His wingspan and vertical leap contribute to his shot-blocking ability, and his fearless mentality is an asset on defense.

However, Buzelis’ ball-handling skills are subpar, so he is considered a forward rather than a guard. His inability to create his shot limits his offensive versatility. One of the primary concerns for scouts is his inconsistency. Physical defenders can prevent him from getting to his spots, and he struggles to consistently maintain a high level of play.

Buzelis shot only 26.1% from beyond the arc and had 14 games without making a three-pointer. This lack of reliable outside shooting is a significant downside in today’s NBA.

Many draft boards project Buzelis as a potential pick for the Detroit Pistons, who hold the 5th overall pick. However, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reported that the Pistons view Buzelis as their floor, indicating he might not fall below the 5th pick.
