Travis Kelce reveals he had to ‘reel it back’ after Taylor Swift relationship escalated to return to real ‘main focus’

The Chiefs face the 49ers in the Super Bowl.

TRAVIS Kelce has opened up on the challenges he has faced this past NFL season since he began dating Taylor Swift.

On Wednesday, the 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro explained how he has handled becoming a global star but emphasized that he’s “100 percent focused” on the team.

Kelce stopped by the Pat McAfee show during the Chiefs’ bye week before the Super Bowl and pulled back the curtain on his personal life.

During the midweek appearance, Kelce was asked if he felt overwhelmed at any point this season between playing football, dating Swift, and working on his podcast with his brother Jason.

“Oh yeah, 100 percent,” Kelce responded.

He explained he had to recenter his focus and ensure that everyone in the organization knew his personal life wouldn’t impact him while playing football.

“I had to kind of reel it back because everybody in this building knows my intentions, man. Football is my main focus right now.

“There’s a lot of people counting on me in this building, in this city, in this organization.

“So this is my number one focus at the time to be able to, and on top of that, it’s in my heart to be able to pour everything I’ve got out there on the field.

The nine-time Pro Bowler went on to express he doesn’t care about the outside noise and is only worried about the people around him but admitted he had to do some self-reflection.

“There’s some perceptions and people can perceive what they want.

“I wanted to make sure the guys and the men and women in this building knew that I was 100 percent focused on this team and getting this team to where we are, where we’re going next week.

“100 percent I had to look back and take a step back and really see how I was portraying myself to the world.

“And make sure everybody knew that I was focused, all while still enjoying my life off the field.”

As for his thoughts on Swift attending his games and sitting with his mother, Donna, his father, Ed, and his brother Jason’s wife, Kylie, Travis stated he “loves it.”

“I love it when Taylor comes and supports me and enjoys the game with the fam and friends.

“It’s been nothing but just a wonderful year, man,” Kelce said.

The Chiefs play the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl in Las Vegas on February 11, with Usher performing at halftime.

It is the second consecutive year the Cheifs have been in the Super Bowl, and they have a chance to win back-to-back Super Bowls, a feat that hasn’t been done since Tom Brady and the New England Patriots achieved the task in 2003 and 2004
