Team USA secured their fifth straight Olympic gold medal with a 98-87 victory over Victor Wembanyama’s France in the Paris Olympics. LeBron James was named the MVP of the tournament.

However, not everyone was focused solely on James’ performance. Team USA’s head coach, Steve Kerr, highlighted another standout player during his press conference who he believes was the true key to their success.

Devin Booker is an incredible basketball player. Nobody asked about him. He was our unsung MVP. I just wanted to say that,” Kerr said, as reported by Ben Golliver of the Washington Post.

Booker’s performance in the final game played a crucial role in securing the gold. Alongside his Phoenix Suns teammate Kevin Durant, Booker helped Team USA jump to an early lead over France France. Booker scored 10 of the team’s first 12 points. He finished the game with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting.

LeBron James’ MVP Triumph at the Paris Olympics Adds to His Unmatched Legacy

LeBron James, who recently shared unique handshakes with his boys, has once again made history. By winning the MVP title at the Paris Olympics, James has now secured MVP honors at every major level of basketball.

James’ impressive resume includes NBA MVP, finals MVP, All-Star Game MVP, in-season tournament MVP, and Olympic MVP. In the final game against France, James contributed 14 points and 10 assists. He also shot an impressive 60% from the field, playing a key role in Team USA’s victory and their fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal.

Whether or not everyone agrees with the Lakers legend winning the MVP title, there’s no denying the significance of his accomplishment. This latest achievement cements his legacy as one of the greatest basketball players of all time.

After missing all the tuneup games due to injury, Kevin Durant has been showcasing a strong comeback performance in the Paris Olympics since the group stage game. With his dominating performance, Team USA is just a game away from grabbing its fifth straight gold in the Olympics. However, beyond his on-court achievements, Durant often finds himself in the spotlight for his deep love and admiration for his mother, Wanda Durant.

Durant’s affection for his mother is well-known, particularly after he famously called her “the real MVP” during his 2014 NBA MVP speech. In an interview with Marc Spears of Andscape at the Paris Olympics, Wanda Durant shared how those words from her son changed her life.

That speech let me know that he got it, and he understood why I was the type of mother that I was. Why I was so present and engaging and somewhat hovering. Because I wanted the best for my sons,” Wanda said.

Wanda then tearfully expressed her deep bond with her sons, revealing how much they mean to her.
