Caitlin Clark had another WNBA player trending online, albeit for the wrong reasons, on Friday night.

Dallas Wings guard Jacy Sheldon’s outing for her new team was overshadowed by Clark’s debut for the Indiana Fever on the night, and, as if that wasn’t bad enough, found herself on the wrong end of Clark’s best play.

Guarding the former Iowa Hawkeyes guard was always going to be a tall task, but Sheldon took it on. And after Clark got the ball off a screen late in the first quarter, she tried selling a call after getting elbowed.

She jumped backward and ended up on the deck while Caitlin drained a three. And with the offensive foul not getting called, it appeared that she got dropped by the latter. Clark went viral on social media right after.

Jacy Sheldon Went Viral Online, Thanks To Caitlin Clark

The above wasn’t a great look for Jacy Sheldon, but all publicity is good publicity, so she got several more followers after the viral moment.

Sheldon and the Wings also got the win, beating the Fever 79-76. She scored both of her three-point attempts for six points in 13 minutes, adding two assists and one rebound.

Thanks to her moment with Caitlin Clark, Jacy’s gotten a lot more attention than she might have had in preseason, as well as some traction on social media. You can see some of her best snaps right below:

The 23-year-old Ohio native was a five-star recruit ahead of her commitment to Ohio State, where she played from 2019 to 2024.

She was drafted by the Wings as the No. 5 overall pick this year.
