The Phoenix Mercury won Sunday’s intense game against the Los Angeles Sparks with a score of 87-68. Sophie Cunningham, a guard for the Mercury, finished the game with 10 points, four assists, and five rebounds in her 32 minutes of play. Although Cunningham’s on-court performance wasn’t particularly impressive, her pre-game style definitely made waves.

The 27-year-old guard stunned everyone with her black dress that barely covered her skin. Her photoshoot in that dress went viral, as did a video of her walking in it. Fans had various reactions, with one writing, “Every day it’s a new WNBA baddie on the TL,” while another asked, “So I don’t follow much. But is Sophie the face of the franchise? She the best player on the team?” Another fan commented, “My god, she can hit the 3s.”

Sophie Cunningham nailed an amazing 3-pointer at the end of the first quarter

At the end of the first quarter, the Mercury were leading 16-7. Sophie Cunningham and Kaleah Copper, the Mercury forward, made three-pointers that significantly boosted the score. Meanwhile, Cameron Brink struggled once again in the loss for the Los Angeles Sparks. Despite getting into foul trouble, Brink was only able to score six points and grab four rebounds. This low output marked her third consecutive performance with fewer than ten points.

Recently, Cunningham once again captured social media’s attention when a photo shared by the official Mercury account on X (formerly known as Twitter) went viral. In the photo, she was wearing a white top that exposed much of her body parts, paired with black cargo pants and brown heels.

Brittany Mahomes has Caitlin Clark’s back and is not afraid to show her public support.

Brittany Mahomes knows all about a bunch of people coming for her for no particular reason, so for that reason, among many others, Patrick Mahomes’s wife decided to speak out in support of Caitlin Clark.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model took to her Instagram story to express her support for the rookie Indiana Fever guard.

Her shout-out came after Clark was pushed to the ground by an opponent during Saturday’s game between the Fever and the Chicago Sky.

The Indiana Fever vs. Chicago Sky game on Saturday was highly anticipated since it featured a first-ever professional meeting between women’s collegiate basketball rivals, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. The Sky put up a strong physical defense against the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, which has been a growing tactic against Clark this season. Late in the third quarter of Indiana’s 71-70 victory over Chicago, one of the most notable moments of this occurred.

With the Fever leading 53-49 and getting ready to inbound the ball on the baseline, Sky guard Chennedy Carter came in and pushed Clark down to the floor from behind.

Clark finished with 11 points, eight rebounds, and six assists in the Fever’s first home win of the season.

Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter had a foul upgraded from the WNBA on Sunday following the hotly contested matchup against the Indiana Fever.

After the league reviewed the play, Carter, who was originally given a common foul for her hip-check on Fever rookie Caitlin Clark, had the call elevated to a flagrant-1 infraction via ESPN.

Carter avoided a fine or suspension over the play.
