The Marvel franchise has not had the best of years in 2023 with many films failing to find success at the box office.
In an attempt to resurrect the franchise, Kevin Feige has roped in the Russo Brothers as producers for Captain America: Brave New World.

It is safe to say that Phase 5 of the MCU has not been the best ride for the Marvel franchise. With Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Secret Invasion, and The Marvels failing to make an impact with fans, Marvel seemed to be looking down the barrel in more ways than one. With a lot riding on Kevin Feige to resurrect the MCU, the franchise head has now gone down a tried and tested path to achieve success.

In the latest information coming in, Feige seems to have found the perfect solution to do damage control by roping in none other than Joe and Anthony Russo, popularly known together as the Russo Brothers. The duo who gave Marvel two huge blockbusters Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, will step in as producers for one massive project which netizens are seeing as an excellent move.

While the MCU has been one of the biggest successes with regard to bringing iconic Marvel superheroes and their narratives to life on screen, the past year has been a forgettable one for Kevin Feige and the team. Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, The Marvels, and Secret Invasion were all unable to utilize the star power of their glittering cast, and failed to make an impact even with die-hard fans.

With the Marvel-Sony collaboration Madame Web having the poorest reception of them all, the pressure was well and truly mounting on the franchise to pull itself together this year. While a lot is riding on Deadpool 3 which is expected to play savior, Feige is not leaving anything to chance when it comes to his other projects as well.

Editor Matthew Schmidt has updated his film credits for “Captain America: Brave New World,” including Joe and Anthony Russo in the lineup(via CBM and Independent Artists Group). It seems like the Marvel head has gone back to a tried and tested formula that worked wonders for the franchise by bringing back the Russo Brothers into the fray. Joe and Anthony Russo who were responsible for directing the hugely successful Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, have now stepped in as producers for the highly anticipated Captain America: Brave New World.

Following this news, fans took to social media to express their excitement about this clever move by Feige. Many netizens believed that the Russo Brothers understood the pulse of the franchise and its audience, and were well-equipped to deliver blockbusters.

Having already proved their directorial skills with the Avengers franchise, the filmmakers’ involvement as producers now will be shot in the arm that Feige will be looking for to envision a fresh and exciting narrative for the latest Captain America film. Even if this rumor turns out false, never say never for the Russo Brothers returning for another movie in the MCU!

Kevin Feige Will Be Seen In The Official Marvel Podcast

Kevin Feige seems to be leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the Marvel franchise gets back on its feet after a lukewarm 2023. Apart from the exciting and clever move to bring back the Russo Brothers as producers for Captain America: Brave New World, Feige and the team have also attempted to gather and unite fans through the introduction of a brand new podcast.

According to an official announcement (via Nexus Point News), the podcast which will begin on June 26th, will release an episode weekly thereafter and will feature various stars and creators who have lent their services to the franchise. They will take part in interesting discussions on movies, comics, games, and much more. Feige too, is expected to make an appearance as one of the guests.

This move, apart from being a great opportunity to provide entertainment for fans, could also be a deliberate tactic to gain more recognition and momentum amidst a lot of hype for James Gunn’s DC. With Marvel being associated with many high-profile celebrities who have given the franchise its recognition, these weekly podcasts could be just the tonic for a resurrection.
