The Los Angeles Clippers have yet to offer Paul George a contract extension. Meanwhile, Brett Siegel from ClutchPoints suggests that George might end up joining the Golden State Warriors under certain conditions.

The Warriors are also in a similar situation with Klay Thompson, as they have not provided him with an extension. Thompson has hinted that the relationship between him and the Warriors is not as strong as it once was. Siegel believes that if the veteran leaves, the Warriors would be keen to bring in George.

Paul George’s situation with the Clippers is very interesting. Should the Clippers decide not to pay George what he wants, it may not be an Eastern Conference team that pursues George. Keep a very close eye on the Warriors regarding George if Klay Thompson is to leave,” Siegel reported.

Jake Fischer Highlights Philadelphia Sixers’ Interest in Paul George

As free agency approaches, Paul George is reportedly seeking a contract extension with the Los Angeles Clippers. Other teams, including the Philadelphia 76ers, have also expressed interest.

Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer recently highlighted the possibility of George joining the Sixers.

I wouldn’t discount the Sixers’ interest in Paul George until his status is finalized with Los Angeles or elsewhere. George has been atop Philadelphia’s wish list for some time — should the Sixers get the chance to talk with George on June 30.”

Given the lack of progress in extension talks with the Clippers, there are indications that George might test the open market. While the odds of George heading to Philadelphia have fluctuated, his final decision remains uncertain until he addresses his player option.

However, NBA insider Marc Stein provided additional insight, revealing that many sources believe George prefers to stay with the Clippers.

“More sources than not we’ve consulted believe George’s preference, as a proud Southern California native, continues to be re-signing with the Clippers, but the incumbent team’s apparent reluctance to extend George a longer or richer deal than Kawhi Leonard’s recent three-year contract extension in the $150 million range has put George’s future in legitimate flux”, Stein said.

REPORT: New York Knicks’ Star Forward OG Anunoby’s Initial Bidding Price Skyrockets Amid Contract Negotiations

The 2023-24 season has been a season of improvement for the Knicks. After years of failure to reach the playoffs, the NY franchise made back-to-back appearances in the postseason for the first time since 2013. In the off-season the team wants to move forward and the first step to that starts with OG Anunoby’s contract.

The Knicks forward is entering the final year of his contract with the Knicks which he signed with his previous team, the Raptors. Anunoby has a player option in his contract and he can easily ditch the $19 million and hit free agency because he can surely have a better offer elsewhere. To stave off that situation, the Knicks are ready to sign him to a long-term contract. According to Brian Windhorst, a $ 35 million per year deal can be the starting rate for the Briton’s services.

The fee was projected to be $30 million but now with free agency approaching the price jumped quite a bit. However, it won’t be a problem for the Knicks as they’re well below the second apron of luxury tax. With a cap space of -$65 million, even with Anunoby’s new deal, the Knicks can avoid any penalties according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

More so, the franchise values the Knicks’ input. In the absence of Julius Randle, Anunoby became a stalwart alongside Josh Hart in the frontcourt.

Looking Back at OG Anunoby’s Season

Since his move from the Raptors in December, Anunoby made himself at home in New York. Scoring 3 20+ point games in the second half of the regular season, Anunoby made himself aligned with the common goal of chasing the title.
