Green Bay Packers star running back Josh Jacobs revealed that the NFL has warned both his team and the Philadelphia Eagles against wearing the color green for their Week 1 game in São Paulo, Brazil.

MLfootball is reporting that is due to gangs in Brazil.

In April, the league announced that Josh Jacobs and the Packers would play the Eagles (designated as the home team) in the first-ever NFL game to be held in Brazil. The contest will be held at the Corinthians Arena.

Speaking on “The Green Light with Chris Long”, Jacobs told the former NFL star pass-rusher that the league told the two teams they can’t wear the color green because of gang-related reasons.

Not only that, but significant security precautions are in place to ensure the safety of both teams, Josh Jacobs stated:

“You know, they said that the part of Brazil we go into, you can’t even wear green at…They say like, I guess, something to do with the gangs and stuff…They probably gonna have, like, armored vehicles following us.”

Green is the main color of both the Packers and Eagles. Their away white jerseys also feature some green, as do their alternate uniforms, so it’s unclear what uniforms both teams will wear heading into that contest.

Jacobs signed a four-year deal with the Packers worth $48 million after five seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, though the final three years of the deal are team options. Of course, Jacobs will have those options picked up by the Pack if he comes as advertised.

Green Bay Packers Josh Jacobs Finally Gets To Play For A Contender

The Raiders were a mediocre team during Jacobs’ five-year run, finishing with just one winning season (10-7 in 2021) and zero playoff victories. But finally, the 2022 rushing champion gets the opportunity to play for a Super Bowl contender.

The Packers went to the Divisional Round in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year, narrowly upsetting the top-seeded San Francisco 49ers.

With a great mix of young and veteran talents, the Packers are well-suited to re-emerge as a Super Bowl contender in the post-Aaron Rodgers era. An offensive nucleus of Jacobs, Jordan Love, Jayden Reed, Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs certainly has the potential to be among football’s best in 2024.

Suns Shock The NBA By Dealing Superstar Kevin Durant To Western Conference Rival In Massive Trade Proposal

A blockbuster trade proposal has the Phoenix Suns shaking up the NBA landscape by dealing franchise star Kevin Durant to a rival Western Conference club.

The Suns acquired Kevin Durant in a blockbuster trade with the Brooklyn Nets last year, hoping that he would be the final piece needed to get them over the championship hump once and for all.

But Phoenix was bounced in round two by the Denver Nuggets last year and got swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the opening round last month. With Durant entering his age-36 season in 2024-25, the Suns may feel inclined to trade the future Hall of Famer and get the best possible return.

Bleacher Report’s Andy Bailey proposed a blockbuster three-team deal in which the Suns would trade Durant back to the Golden State Warriors, where KD won two NBA Championships.

Bailey’s proposal has Phoenix receiving Jonathan Kuminga, Kevin Looney, Caleb Houstan, Brandin Podziemski and three first-round picks. The Orlando Magic would get Chris Paul, Gary Payton II and a 2028 second-round pick, while the Dubs would land Kevin Durant and Jett Howard:

“Even the slightly older version of this core would instantly be a nightmare to defend. And though this deal hammers the team’s depth, they’d be an attractive destination for ring-chasing veterans who might be willing to sign for less than they’re worth.

Some combination of Wiggins, Moses Moody and Trayce Jackson-Davis would at least be the start of a potentially solid rotation behind the four stars. Again, this would be a big risk. But the final years of Curry’s prime justifies risks.”
