Basketball fans have been crying for Nika Muhl to be allowed to make her WNBA season debut and Paige Bueckers added her name to the growing list.

Muhl, 23, has so far been denied the chance to make her bow for Seattle Storm in their opening four games of the regular season, as her work visa has been left on pending.

There was a mix-up which suggested Muhl would make her first appearance against the Minnesota Lynx, only for her name to be withdrawn from the roster.

The former UConn star has cut a frustrated figure watching from the stands, and now Bueckers has called on a solution to end her long wait to get on the court.

“Free my twin while you’re at it,” Bueckers said, during a TikTok livestream.

It was a heartwarming exchange between them and it’s no wonder, as Bueckers and Muhl were previous UConn teammates in each of the previous three seasons.

Thank you for watching

Not only that, they appeared to be close off the pitch after Muhl paid tribute to her following their Big East Championship win in 2023.

“I’m just so grateful and thankful to the universe that I was able to come across a person like that,” Muhl said after breaking down in tears “…That’s my best friend. That’s my sister.”

Muhl finally cleared to make debut

While Muhl entered the league as the Storm’s No. 14 overall draft pick, Bueckers elected to return for another collegiate season with the Huskies in 2024-25.

Bueckers‘ call has been answered as it emerged Muhl has been cleared to finally make her debut.

She will be available for selection for Wednesday night’s matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.

The Storm take on the Fever matchup at 22:00 ET / 20:00 PT in Seattle on Wednesday.
