Fans called out Kirsten for her changing voice after they noticed she had been smoking cigarettes for years

KIRSTEN Dunst fans were furious in a social media tirade after she revealed why she didn’t return to the new Spider-Man movie.

Kirsten did not return to the latest franchise installment, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was released in 2021.

In a recent interview, Kirsten revealed she would have returned to the movie if she was given the opportunity.

“No, no. I would have,” she told British GQ when asked.

“It would be funny to be like, OK, let’s take Tobey [Maguire] and I and do it in a weird indie way where it’s like a different kind of superhero film.”

Tobey returned to the latest film, but Kirsten was not asked.

She also said she would have returned and would have been paid generously for it.

“You get paid a lot of money,” she bluntly admitted.

Fans were left furious after they read Kirsten’s admission and flooded X, formerly Twitter, with their criticism.

“This is something I truly do not get and wish had gone differently,” said a fan.

“Waaaay back I recall rumors of her involvemen and man I’d give anything for like a short film of Tobey & Kirsten Dunst as grown Peter and MJ just to see her MJ again. Maybe even filmed from her POV.”

“That’s sad,” simply added another.

“Would have been amazing,” reminisced a third.

“Maybe there’s still hope for her return in a future film,” speculated a follower.

“They fumbled real hard,” noted a fifth.

“That’s too bad! Kirsten Dunst would have been great in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’! It’s a missed opportunity,” stated a sixth.

WHO’S THAT?

The fan outrage followed Kirsten being called out for her supposed voice change.

Kirsten appeared in an interview about the wage gap between men and women in Hollywood for BBC News.

While speaking, the voice of the Bring It On actress seemed to sound lower and raspier than it did years ago.

Kirsten always had a high-pitched voice until recently.

The star’s voice sounded lower on the video segment uploaded onto social media.

CONFUSED FANS

Fans flooded the comment section with confused remarks, claiming the vocal change was due to her smoking cigarettes.

“Was her voice always like this,” a TikTok user asked.

“What happened to her voice,” another questioned.

“I love Kirsten Dunst, and I know voices can change with age/health changes, but she sounds like a cigarette mom now…” a third fan joked.

“[Kirsten’s] voice has been affected by the cigarettes,” a fourth social media user asserted.

“[Kirsten’s] voice sounds deeper,” someone else noted
