Former Three-Star College Basketball Recruit Buries Bronny James Hype With Four Simple Words

Bronny James is the most polarizing prospect in this year’s NBA Draft. Some people believe that he is going to blossom into a superstar like his father while others think that he only gets attention because of his last name.

The divide between the two sides is rather contentious and only time will tell who is right!

In the meantime, James is in Chicago for the NBA Draft Combine. This is the first year that every single player who enters into the draft pool must get measured and participate in drills, per a new rule that went into effect this year. Scrimmages are optional.

No player’s performance at the combine is more highly scrutinized than James.

He quieted a lot of the haters with an impressive shooting performance on Day 1. A video from the open court drills also drew praise from a LeBron Sr. fan account.

First of all, James measured-in at 6-foot-1.5! He’s not a full 6-foot-2.

Secondly, although it is impossible to deny that he looked explosive, guards of his size who can’t dunk on the Division-I level are in the minority. The video wasn’t really that impressive.

Carson McCorkle agrees! The former three-star recruit, who began his career at Virginia and later transferred to Wofford, is listed at 6-foot-3 on the Bulldogs’ roster.

He responded back to the video of James’ dunks with a simple message to put things in perspective.

I can do this

No disrespect to McCorkle, but if he can do it, it’s not that impressive. (I cannot!!) I think that was his point with the post!

All of the hype surrounding James is entirely overblown. All he did in the viral video was dunk.

Cool. And?

Bronny James very well could become an important piece to an NBA championship team. That is a very realistic possibility and I would not be surprised if it happens. I almost expect it to.

But can we please slow the roll just a little bit? Carson McCorkle can do this!
