“Early It Was About Me” – Shaq’s Ex-Wife Shaunie Henderson Ropes In Legendary NFL Coach for “Undefeated” Moment

Shaunie Henderson is basking in the success of her new book ‘Undefeated’. Considering the subject of her book, is it really surprising that she collaborated with Deion Sanders? The college football coach joined the Colorado Buffaloes with just one thing in mind- to win.

Shaquille O’Neal‘s ex-wife and Sanders met during the Cry Out Experience. After the event, ‘Coach Prime’ took to social media to express his love for Shaunie and Keion Henderson. So it was the author’s turn to share a snippet of her interaction with the football coach. During their backstage interaction, Shaunie asked Sanders about his one undefeated moment. Sanders shared a heartfelt story about his learnings.

Early it was about me and what I can do. But then when I surrendered and gave it to the lord, now it’s what we can do. And then I had to realization and understanding that he wants me to win because if I lose I’m representing him. Then he loses,” he shared.

‘Coach Prime’ further explained how he started trusting the process. “He wants me to stay in the light. Now, if I’m not being successful, that means I’m up for the process and I need to learn throughout this process of what’s transpiring and what he’s trying to teach me to expedite this foolishness.”

Sanders highlighted that he truly believes that tribulations teach patience. And patience is something he had to stick by in his NFL career too. After five years and just two playoff games with the Falcons, Sanders knew it was time to make changes. He signed with the 49ers and won the Super Bowl XXIX. Next, he won Super Bowl XXX with the Dallas Cowboys.

However, the real test of his patience came as a coach. Sanders started coaching the Colorado Buffaloes right after the team had one of its worst seasons. The head coach led the team to three back-to-back wins. His first season with the Buffs started on a high note. But they were unable to keep consistency and finished the 2023 season with a 4-8 record. And that’s where Deion Sanders really had to keep his patience.

As a result, in his second year with the team, the HC aspires to have more patience, and consistency, be more resilient as a team, and adapt to new challenges. But coming back to Shaunie and Keion Henderson, ‘Prime Time’ had some great things to say about them.

Keion and Shaunie Henderson: Deion Sanders’s favorite couple

After Shaunie posted on Instagram with Keion and Coach Prime, the latter commented and wrote, “Love y’all 2 Life.” But the NFL legend also went one step ahead and expressed his admiration for the couple in his story. “1 of my favorite couples.” The mutual admiration continued as she wrote, “We love you coach.”

However, this isn’t the first time they praised each other. Shaunie is a big Buffs fan and loves the relationship Sanders shared with his boys, who are also a part of the Buffs. No doubt, in 2023, she stated, “Your relationship with these boys melts my heart!”

Clearly, Sanders and Shaunie have a lot of respect for each other. But getting back to the Cry Out Experience event, Chris Webber was another speaker in the lineup. Media personality, Charlamagne Tha God, social justice activist, Tamika Mallory, and Grammy winners, Fred Hammond and Tye Tribbett were on stage at the event. But Shaunie stole the show with her “daring” performance. She was dared by her husband to make a musical entrance for the event.

Shaunie graced her way to the stage on ‘Not Like U’ at the George R. Brown Convention Center. After the 2 day event in Houston, Texas, it had over 2500 attendees, as per Keion. The process for the next is already underway, as per their website.
