With the end of Bill Belichick’s era, the New England Patriots have stepped into their rejuvenating era where they rebuild the team. It started with Jerod Mayo becoming the new head coach along with some nominal additional changes in the coaching staff.

But no one expected them to change their logo– the legendary logo that dominated the NFL for two whole decades and won the highest count of Super Bowl trophies, 6. Although the franchise hasn’t officially released the new logo, its glimpse has been seen twice till now.

First, during a video conference with the Patriots’ de facto General Manager Eliot Wolf, the logo was spotted in the background– the Flying Elvis upgrade. It didn’t catch many eyes at that moment and neither did Wolf make any comments. The new logo finally gained attention when former Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes visited the franchise stadium, Gillette Stadium.

The new logo has the letters “NE” in the center, featuring New England’s “Flying Elvis” primary logo but with a little modification with a face wearing a cap with a star on it. Its border has the franchise name written in bold and the year of its establishment, 1990.

He documented his entire trip down memory lane, the franchise’s new secondary logo was displayed inside the team’s facility. As the images surfaced on the internet, it struck an open debate among the fans about what would be the official permanent logo of the Patriots.

It appears the majority of the fans didn’t like the new-designed franchise logo of the Patriots as they expressed their bold opinions by calling it words like “disgusting” and “bad.” Nonetheless, it became another hot topic of discussion after Tom Brady’s recent roast.

One fan wrote on X, “They hired the Cleveland Guardians logo creator,” while another wrote, “They sold their soul for the championships cause it’s been L after L ever since.” Here are some of the fan reactions:

Fans also mocked how bad the Patriots helmet would look with the new logo on it and criticized the franchise altogether. Although there were a few who didn’t hate the new logo, the overall response was definitely against it.
