Rashee Rice is having an offseason to forget.

The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver had an excellent rookie campaign, culminating in a Super Bowl win. However, he has found himself in trouble with the law since then, having gotten involved in a hit-and-run incident in Dallas that could prompt a lengthy suspension.

The wideout is also being investigated for assaulting a photographer at a nightclub in Dallas but could see some reprieve amid his latest legal wrinkle.

The Dallas Police Department has not identified Rice as a suspect in this particular case, and it appears that his luck could change.

The owner of the club where the alleged incident took place (Lit Kitchen) has said that the Chiefs star was not involved in an altercation as his cameras showed nothing appearing to be a fight of any sort, while his staff didn’t mention anything pointing to such an incident.

“It’s lies based on what I see through my camera system, and there’s nothing wrong with the guy,” the owner told FOX 4.

The Assault Charges Against Rashee Rice Have Been Dropped

According to the aforementioned outlet, the charges against Rashee Rice have been dropped as his accuser has signed an affidavit of non-prosecution and doesn’t want to pursue charges. The Dallas Police Department is still looking into the case, but the wideout should be safe for now.

While he shouldn’t face any charges for what happened at the club, Rice is still dealing with other major legal issues, plus he’s also being sued over the accident he caused.

His legal matters are not the only bad press the Chiefs are dealing with right now. Two of their offensive linemen were arrested on marijuana charges last week, and the Harrison Butker controversy is still very much alive.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has offered brief comment on a potential change to the league’s schedule.

Goodell held a press conference with reporters on Tuesday, during which he discussed several topics, including Tom Brady’s plans to purchase a stake in the Las Vegas Raiders and how his role at FOX might affect them.

He touched on the tampering investigations regarding the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles over the signings of Kirk Cousins and Saquon Barkley.

Goodell told the media the probes are still ongoing.

Perhaps the biggest takeaway from the Commissioner’s presser centered on the possibility of an 18-game regular season.
