Chris Simms Is Getting Destroyed On Social Media After Naming His Controversial Choice For “Most Overrated Player In Football”

NFL analyst Chris Simms really has an issue with Jalen Hurts.

In a recent interview, sports analyst and former NFL quarterback Chris Simms said he has a ton of respect for Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts, but then immediately started dissing him as the “most overrated player in football.”

Simms made the claim due to the players Hurts is surrounded by and it makes him look a lot better than he truly is.

“I respect a lot about Jalen Hurts, but I think Jalen Hurts is also like the most overrated player in football,” Simms said.

“That’s me, I know I’m wrong, I take a lot of crap about that comment. But he plays quarterback for a team that’s an all-star team, they have the best O-line in football, it’s not even close. I just think if you put some other quarterback in Philly, you put Kyler Murray in there, you’d say ‘Damn, Kyler’s amazing. Is he the MVP of football?’

“And I think we lose sight of all that a little bit. It gets into the quarterback team thing where right now we’re all about the quarterback, and he’d be one of those guys that I certainly would go, hey, when Kyler is on his game, he is every bit in the class of Jalen Hurts in my opinion.”

Social media wasted no time blasting him:

Hurts, who made it to the Pro Bowl this season, had a strong year despite the team faltering towards the end of the season. Hurts led Philly to an 11-6 record in the regular season while finishing the season with 3,858 yards and 23 touchdowns with 15 interceptions.

The Philadelphia Eagles were the only 10-1 team in the NFL. They became the first team to start 10-1 and lose five-or-more games since the 1986 New York Jets, losing five of six to close the regular season and etching their own place in NFL history.

Philadelphia limped into the postseason at 11-6 and then loss in the Wild Card round to the Tampa Bay Bucs.

The Eagles were coming off a Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs and were immediate contenders to go back to the Super Bowl. Now, the team has more questions than answers that Hurts will have to make disappear and he can d so with his play on the field.
