That is despite the wide receiver currently facing police investigations over a 119mph car crash in Dallas and an alleged assault on a photographer.

Previous reports claimed that the Chiefs expect Rice to be suspended for at least half of the upcoming NFL season.

According to ESPN, however, Rice will be in attendance when the team begins the next phase of preseason on Monday.

The 24-year-old, who helped the Chiefs to a second successive Super Bowl win in February, is facing eight charges over the high-speed crash.

Rice, 24, surrendered to police after he and another driver of a speeding sports car allegedly caused a crash involving a half-dozen vehicles on a Dallas highway in March.

The Super Bowl winner is facing one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury and six counts of collision involving injury in relation to the wreck.

Rice is also expected to face disciplinary action from the NFL, with the Chiefs expecting Rice to be suspended for ‘half a season at least’.

Then, earlier this month, it emerged that Rice is under investigation for allegedly hitting a photographer at a nightclub in Dallas.

A man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, including swelling on one side of his face, officials told The Dallas Morning News.

Law enforcement officials are looking into claims that Rice punched the man, with a police report accusing the ‘suspect’ – Rice is not named – of luring the photographer back to the Lit Lounge & Feu Nightclub in downtown Dallas before assaulting him.

But the owner of the nightclub at the center of the assault allegations questioned the police’s version of events.

He claimed security footage shows the accuser leaving with no visible injuries.

Last season, as a rookie, Rice led the Chiefs wide receivers in catches (79), yards (938) and touchdowns (7).
