Anthony Edwards is coming off a fresh Olympic gold medal win at the Paris Olympics. ‘Ant’ is still basking in the accomplishment.

After the win, however, Edwards was asked if he was interested in participating in the next FIBA World Cup. The Minnesota Timberwolves star bluntly responded:

“Hell nah.” Edwards said.

Anthony Edwards was a major part of Team USA at the 2023 FIBA World Cup. The World Cup proved to be a tough outing for the Olympic champions. They finished fourth in the competition after losing to Canada in the bronze medal game.

Edwards played seven games for Team USA during the 2023 FIBA World Cup. He averaged 18.9 points per game and shot 47.5% from the field and 31.1% from the three-point line.

Despite his efforts, Team USA was bested by World Cup 2023 champion Germany during the semifinal.

While the U.S. might have won the Olympic gold medal, they do not possess a strong World Cup group. Unlike the Olympics, most marquee NBA names aren’t interested in joining the World Cup roster. It would be interesting to see if any star player chooses to play at the 2027 World Cup.

Anthony Edwards has a hilarious take on Steph Curry’s ridiculous shot

Steph Curry took the heart of the French fans during the gold medal game of the Paris Olympics. The Golden State Warriors star was hot in the fourth quarter.

Curry’s last three-point shot became a talking point. Curry took the ball to the corner and passed it to Kevin Durant. He then received a return pass from KD, and after making his defenders dance, he shot over them. Curry ran back with a ‘night night’ celebration.

Later, Curry spoke with Edwards live on Instagram. During their conversation, Ant mimicked Curry’s signature ‘night night’ celebration. Edwards also had a hilarious reaction to Curry’s shot.

“Hey, that n***a shot that ball with two people. I’m on the bench like, hold on, I know he hot, but hey, buddy just [shot it],” Edwards said in the video.

Anthony Edwards has gotten his slice of the Olympic experience. He may not want to compete in the FIBA World Cup, but the budding All-Star will almost undoubtedly be back for the 2028 LA Olympics.
