Former LSU Tigers star Angel Reese went #7 overall in last week’s WNBA draft to the Chicago Sky, and she wasted little time making her first purchase to ride the streets in as her professional career gets ready to kick off.
Starting a new life in Chicago means getting a new ride to cruise around town, which is why the former named Bayou Barbie has purchased a new Mercedes Benz after giving up her old vehicle.
She uploaded a picture of her old car on Instagram with the caption:
“BYE BYE TO MY FIRST EVER BABY,” Angel Reese wrote. “BUT ITS TIME TO UPGRADE YA TO THE BIG BARBIEEEEE”
Angel Reese, who became one of the faces of the NIL, unveiled her AMG G-Class SUV in a post on her Instagram Story while in Illinois this week.
According to Mercedes-Benz, the luxurious car with a red inside made of Nappa leather and black rims starts at $183,000.
“NEW CITY. NEW BEGINNINGS. NEW BIG BODY BARBIE BENZ.”
Reese recently purchased a white Mercedes Benz 2024 AMG 63 SUV with an automatic transmission, five seats, and a load capacity of 38.1–68.6 cubic feet. According to the website, it is equipped with an AMG 4.0LV8 biturbo engine that produces 577 horsepower at 6,000 rpm.

Angel Reese had a whopping total of 17 different NIL sponsorship deals during the 2022-2023 season, according to a March 2023 Sponsor United report.
That number got bigger after SponsorUnited recently released its Name, Image, Likeness Marketing Partnerships 2023–24 report and it revealed Reese had the second-most NIL endorsements over the past year with 26 deals, tied with UCLA quarterback Chase Griffin.
Reese may no longer be in college athletics but her partnerships will continue to increase, and she will continue to make waves in professional sports.

In a recent episode of First Take, host Stephen A. Smith surprised everyone by discussing the challenges faced by Indiana Fever star player Caitlin Clark. While giving his opinion on the criticism surrounding Clark, Smith mentioned a controversial name. The 56-year-old NBA analyst brought up Donald Trump and discussed how race plays a role in Clark’s controversies.
“There’s a broader issue here that can’t be escaped. And that is this: she is a white young lady. And she’s been a magnet in a way that has benefitted the league in ways that others have not, even though their efforts have been worthy and deserving of being as celebrated, if not even more celebrated…. in the end, if you’re white, you’re bright, you’re right, and as a result, the shine comes your way in the eyes of a lot of people in America.” Smith said.
“You have somebody that’s a presidential candidate. What is his claim to fame? Make America Great Again. What have people interpreted that to mean? Make America White Again… what has that led to? A divide. It is not a divide that is created. It is a divide that is illuminated because it highlights and shows that it’s been in existence all along. And It hasn’t gone anywhere.” Smith added.
Caitlin Clark Racism Controversy
After making her debut in the WNBA, Clark has been involved in numerous controversies on a weekly basis. Recently, her fans have been bringing up her name in discussions about racism, misogyny, and homophobia. During an interview, the 22-year-old Fever player was asked about these topics, and she said that her focus was on basketball. Despite Clark ignoring the fans’ actions, another player, Connecticut Sun guard DiJonai Carrington, criticized Clark for ignoring such essential incidents.
