The Washington Commanders, after having one of the more active off-seasons in the NFL, are one of the favorites for teams to watch during the upcoming 2024 NFL season. As we continue through the offseason, there are many more reasons to keep an eye on the team.

While the team did have the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, where they took LSU product Jayden Daniels, their rookie quarterback isn’t the only reason they’re making headlines, as the team has reportedly made a significant brand decision.

Josh Harris’ lead has come with some watchful eyes after he bought the bleeding franchise from Dan Schneider in 2023, and fans have been keeping an eye on whether or not Harris decides to change the team’s name.

According to owner Marjorie Harris, Josh’s wife, the ownership group isn’t apprehensive about their name right now. They are focused on the infield and stadium issues since the Commanders have the worst NFL stadium.

The Washington Commanders Won’t Change Their Name Any Time Soon

Harris also noted that when she’s had time to talk with the team’s fans, they seem to have all gotten pretty accustomed to calling them by their current name, which is most likely a positive sign for the franchise’s future.

After much deliberation, fans can finally put the rumors of a possible name change to bed after the owner’s comments. For fans who like the name, this is excellent news. Fans won’t have to buy new jerseys anytime soon.

Now for the more critical issues at hand. After struggling the last few under former head coach Ron Rivera, Washington should be slightly more competitive this season. With Dan Quinn and Jayden Daniels leading the charge, the team looks poised to succeed. Now, they need a better stadium to do so.

Washington Commanders Kicker Brandon McManus Breaks His Silence Following Serious Accusations From 2 Female Flight Attendants

According to court records obtained by ESPN, two women are suing kicker Brandon McManus and the Jacksonville Jaguars, claiming that McManus sexually attacked them during the team’s international flight to London last year.

The two ladies, who go by the names Jane Doe I and Jane Doe II in the case that was filed in Duval County Circuit Civil Court on Friday night, claim that McManus had been rubbing and grinding against them. In addition, they charge that the Jaguars neglected to oversee McManus and provide a secure working environment for team employees.

They are seeking in excess of $1 million and are demanding a jury trial.

Brandon McManus is now responding to the accusations through his lawyer.

McManus’ attorney, Brett R. Gallaway, said in a statement on Monday, “These are absolutely fictitious and demonstrably false allegations made as part of a campaign to defame and disparage a talented and well-respected NFL player. We intend to aggressively defend Brandon’s rights and integrity and clear his name by showing what these claims truly are — an extortion attempt.”

The kicker has been married to his wife Nadia McManus since 2016, and the couple have three kids together.

According to the lawsuit, the women were working as flight attendants on the Sept. 28, 2023, journey to London. The Jaguars were in London for two weeks, playing back-to-back games as part of the NFL’s international schedule. The first game took place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, October 1st, versus the Atlanta Falcons.

It is said that the charter flight operated by Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings “quickly turned into a party.” The veteran kicker is accused of trying to entice three more flight attendants to the celebration by handing out $100 bills in an attempt to get them to drink and dance excessively, while Brandon McManus and other players disrespected the flight attendants’ personal space.

The women are seeking in excess of $1 million and are demanding a jury trial.

A pair of women have filed a lawsuit against former Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Brandon McManus, alleging that he sexually assaulted them on the team’s flight to London during the 2023 season.

The Commanders, who signed McManus a one-year, $3.6 million deal this offseason, released a statement:

“Earlier today, we were made aware of the civil lawsuit filed on May 24 against Brandon McManus,” the Commanders said in a statement. “We take allegations of this nature very seriously and are looking into the matter. We have been in communication with the league office and Brandon’s representation, and will reserve further comment at this time.”

The Jaguars released a similar statement on Monday night as well:

“We’re aware of the complaint, and we acknowledge the significance of the claims,” the team said in a statement. “As we continue to look into the matter, it bears emphasizing that we insist on an organization built by people who represent our community and game with the highest character and class.”
