Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole appeared to hint at a ‘friendship breakup’ with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and wife Brittany Mahomes. 

The influencer dated Chiefs star Kelce for several years before he began his high-profile love story with Taylor Swift.

As her ex moves on with the global superstar, Nicole has tried to ‘tune out the noise’, which included unfollowing Kelce’s teammate Mahomes and his wife.

And the 32-year-old opened up on ‘friendship breakups’ during an Instagram Q&A, suggesting that she is no longer friends with the quarterback and his wife, despite not naming the couple.

‘Friendship breakups are tough. But it’s a part [sic] of life,’ Nicole wrote on Wednesday. ‘People are sometimes only meant to be in your life for a season.

Her unfollowing came after Brittany was spotted hanging out with Kelce’s new love interest Swift.

She joined Taylor on October 1 in a suite at the Chiefs game at the New York Jets, sitting alongside the popstar, as well as Blake Lively, Sophie Turner, Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman and more.

Brittany even attended a girls night with Swift, Blake, Sophie and several other gal pals the night before at Emilio’s Ballato.

Brittany also attended the after game private bash on September 24 – the night Taylor and Travis went public with their relationship.

More recently, Swift and Kelce visited the Mahomes at their $8million mansion after the 12-time Grammy Award winner reunited with her NFL beau in Kansas City.

Nicole explained her reasoning behind unfollowing Brittany in October, telling People: ‘The reality is I know these people in real life. And so, in real life, I’ve communicated to these people why I’ve had to publicly make the decisions that I made.’

Nicole and the two-time Super Bowl winner had dated on and off for several years before ending things for good in 2022. It’s unclear what ended their relationship.

The couple were even part of Brittany and Mahomes’s wedding party when they tied the knot in Maui in March 2022.

Kelce appeared to unfollow his ex-girlfriend with fans noticing he was no longer following he shortly after she shared a flirty message about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, according to Page Six.

‘Fly Eagles Fly,’ Nicole wrote on X in response to Hurts’ appearance at Monday’s 76ers-Lakers game in Philadelphia.

A night earlier, Hurts bolstered his MVP candidacy by guiding Philadelphia to a comeback win against the visiting Buffalo Bills with a walkoff touchdown. Naturally, he was given a stirring ovation at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia on Monday.

And as many noted, including Nicole, the 25-year-old quarterback looked rather dapper sitting courtside.

To twist the knife further, the message comes just over a week after her ex Kelce’s Chiefs fell to the Eagles in a rematch of last season’s Super Bowl.

But Nicole was quickly warned by Philadelphia fans that the signal caller was off the market.
