Travis Kelce has a two-word nickname for the mother of his teammate and close friend, Patrick Mahomes.

The Kansas City Chiefs stars have been teammates since the latter was drafted in 2017. They have won three Super Bowls together, and their relationship extends off the field. They are considered to be best friends.

As such, their families are pretty close—so much so that Kelce has a nickname for his mother.

Randi Mahomes revealed as much after last week’s ESPYs.

Patrick was not in attendance, though he was nominated for multiple awards, so his mother represented him. She would bump into Travis at some point, and he would call her by the nickname he made up for her.

“Mama Mahomes, Mama Mahomes,” Randi told People Magazine.

Patrick’s mom told the publication that Kelce uses the name every time they meet each other.

“And he is such a ball of energy,” she added.

Travis Kelce’s Nickname For Randi Mahomes Makes Total Sense

Given that Travis Kelce and his brother Jason refer to their own mother, Donna Kelce, as “Mama Kelce,” this isn’t at all surprising and is right on brand.

There’s also the fact that the Chiefs offensive studs often refer to themselves as brothers, suggesting there’s a lot of warmth between their families.

As for the awards, Patrick Mahomes was selected as the Best NFL Player and Best Male Athlete on the back of another Super Bowl-winning season.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and U.S. President Joe Biden shared a hysterical moment together during the team’s visit to the White House on Friday.

Every year, the White House welcomes the league champions of college sports and major professional sports. For the second straight year, Travis Kelce and the Chiefs visited the White House less than four months after successfully defending their Super Bowl title.

While Biden was speaking to the public, the president called Kelce to come over and deliver a speech. The future Hall of Famer stepped up to the mic and delivered a hilarious joke like only he could:

“My fellow Americans, it’s nice to see you all yet again. I’m not going to lie, President Biden, they told me if I came up here, I’d get tased. So I’m going to go back to my spot, alright?”

Biden and Kelce shared a laugh and a handshake before Kelce let the president take over the microphone again.

Travis Kelce and the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58 to secure the franchise’s second straight Super Bowl. This made them the first NFL team to repeat as champions since the 2003 and ’04 New England Patriots.

With their third Super Bowl championship in five years, the Chiefs also cemented themselves as a dynasty. Up next, the Chiefs will try to become the first team in history to complete a Super Bowl three-peat.

Kansas City will open their 2024 season with a home showdown against the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 5.

A Year To Remember For Travis Kelce

To say that the past 12 months have been awfully special for Travis Kelce would be a giant understatement.

Not only did he just celebrate a third Super Bowl championship with Kansas City, but the 34-year-old may have found his soulmate in Taylor Swift. Kelce and the Grammy Award-winning singer have been together for close to a year now, with their relationship bringing plenty more attention and coverage to the NFL.

On top of that, the Chiefs recently handed the perennial Pro Bowler a lucrative two-year contract extension worth $34.25 million.
