Tom Brady penned a heartfelt message to his father and his children on Sunday to commemorate Father’s Day.

In a post shared on Instagram, the retired NFL quarterback, 46, thanked his “hero,” Tom Sr., for being “the best role model I could have ever asked for,” before pivoting to his three kids — sons Jack, 16, and Benjamin, 14, and 11-year-old daughter Vivian – “for giving me the gift of being a father.”

“Happy Fathers Day to my HERO, and the best role model I could have ever asked for. And THANK YOU, to these kids for giving me the gift of being a father, a joy that I could have never imagined until you came into my life,” Brady wrote. “I hope that I can give you all that my dad gave me… unconditional love and support.”

Brady, who will be working alongside Kevin Burkhardt in the booth, said this week on the “SI Media With Jimmy Traina” podcast how many in the business have offered support as he begins this career transition.

“Everyone really opened their arms to embrace me and phone calls and there are still more that I’m going to make before the start of the season. And I’m just very grateful for the people that kind of shared a lot of incredible nuggets, ways to succeed, that I’ll be able to involve myself in as I go forward,” Brady said.
