Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce may have won over Taylor Swift’s heart with his charming personality and looks, but teammate Patrick Mahomes believes he deserves some credit for helping the power couple come together.

Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs received plenty more media coverage and attention than usual in 2023, and not just because they won another Super Bowl. It was largely thanks to Kelce’s relationship with the Grammy Award-winning singer that went public last fall.

Swift attended the majority of Chiefs games in 2023, including their entire postseason run that ended with a victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58.

During his appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show”, Patrick Mahomes made an interesting confession for Kelce: The two-time league MVP claims that he was the one who got the ball rolling on the Kelce-Swift thing:

“I like to take some of the credit. I was the one who invited Travis to his first Taylor concert…He was sitting in my suite, so I feel like I was the matchmaker. I had some input in there… ‘Just go for it. Just go for it.’ And you know Travis man, he does it…I’m glad it’s all worked out for the best.”

They haven’t been together for a full year yet, but there’s already speculation that Kelce will soon propose to Swift. Multiple reports have suggested otherwise, but only Kelce and Swift know deep down if that’s on the table right now.

Mahomes didn’t put together his best statistical season in 2023 (4,183 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and a career-high 14 interceptions), but he saved his best for when it mattered most as usual.

In four playoff games, Mahomes completed 69.8 percent of pass attempts for 1,051 yards, six touchdowns and one interception as KC completed the first Super Bowl repeat since the 2004 New England Patriots.

Patrick Mahomes & Chiefs Begin Title Defense vs. Ravens

The Chiefs will be challenged early in their Super Bowl title defense, with reigning MVP Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens coming to town in the NFL Kickoff Game on Sept. 5.

Though Mahomes is 4-1 against Jackson’s Ravens (including the 17-10 AFC Championship Game win in January), four of those contests have been decided by a single score. We shouldn’t expect anything different when the league’s two most recent MVP winners square off in the opening game of 2024.

Patrick Mahomes Held Nothing Back Destroying Trolls Body-Shaming Him On Social Media

Patrick Mahomes had the perfect response to the trolls who body-shamed him after an image of him showing up to camp quickly went viral.

The 28-year-old Patrick Mahomes is coming off another historic season that saw the Chiefs win back-to-back Super Bowls. They defeated the San Francisco 49ers in overtime of the big game to secure dynastic status, as well as the first NFL repeat in 19 years.

Even though Mahomes is among the world’s greatest athletes (and therefore in peak physical condition), some folks on social media thought he showed up to camp looking overweight:

During his appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show”, Patrick Mahomes admitted that he was “surprised” by the body-shaming comments from the trolls, noting that he believed it was something in the past.

“It kind of surprised me. I kind of thought we had the whole dad bod thing out of the way last season…in the play-offs. But I guess people still haven’t realized that I don’t have abs… Hopefully, one of these days, we can figure out how to get a looser T-shirt. The backpack’s just holding my shirt in.”

It’s unfortunate that we’re still living in times where people still think it’s okay to shame others based on their physical appearances. But Mahomes kept it classy and deserves credit for not sinking to the level of the body-shamers.

Last season, Patrick Mahomes completed 67.2 percent of his pass attempts for 4,183 yards, 27 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. In the postseason, he had a 69.8 completion percentage for 1,051 yards, six touchdowns and one interception.

Patrick Mahomes & Chiefs Aim For First NFL Three-Peat

With the Chiefs cementing themselves as a dynasty, the next order of business now is to make history by completing the first three-peat in NFL history.

The 1990 San Francisco 49ers and 1994 Dallas Cowboys were close-ish to a three-peat, both losing in the NFC Championship Game after winning back-to-back Super Bowls. If there’s one team that can finally complete the first NFL three-peat, it’s the team with the best quarterback and coach in football.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will begin their quest for a three-peat when they welcome reigning MVP Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium in the NFL Kickoff Game on Sept. 5.
