Glaser: I felt like Taylor Swift for a couple of days

The event was a significant moment not only for Brady but also for the panel of comedians who took on the NFL legend.

Among them, comedian Nikki Glaser experienced a notable boost in her career, leading her to make some interesting comparisons.

During a recent appearance on the “Chicks in the Office” podcast, Glaser shared her thoughts on the aftermath of the roast, describing it as a transformative period.

“I did feel like Taylor Swift for a couple days. … My face everywhere. I open my phone, and people are talking about me,”Glaser said.

“Like, that must be what it’s like to be her.”

A self-proclaimed Swiftie, Glaser drew inspiration from Swift’s surprise release of “Tortured Poets Department” in mid-April while preparing for the roast.

Despite knowing about her participation for over a month, Glaser admitted that she only began preparing intensely in the final weeks leading up to the event.

“I had about a month and a half. I’d known for a while, but I didn’t know who was going to be on it besides Tom Brady until, like, weeks before, and so it’s no point in really writing or preparing,” she explained.

“So, I kind of knew but didn’t really force myself to get in, like, really, like, specialized training mode.”

Glaser: Preparing for the roast felt like the Olympics

The success of the roast marked a significant career milestone for Glaser, though she expressed reservations about participating in such high-pressure events regularly.

“I would not recommend doing this for myself more often than once a year in terms of, like, the amount of pressure I felt. … It really felt like the Olympics … and thank God I nailed it, but … I just got lucky,” she reflected.

Despite the positive reception and career boost, Glaser noted the emotional farewell she received from Brady, suggesting that their paths are unlikely to cross again.

“With the way Tom Brady said goodbye to me after the roast, I feel like I’ll most likely never meet him again. However, it was a sweet goodbye,” she remarked.

Interestingly, the roast has also been a point of contention for Brady, who recently expressed regret over his decision to participate, citing the impact on his family.

Brady’s comments sparked debate among fans and commentators, with Glaser addressing his remarks during an appearance on “Today with Hoda & Jenna.”

“Tom maybe didn’t consider the backlash from his family and how it would affect him,”Glaser said.

“I also think Tom Brady does not do anything without doing his research and knowing exactly what he’s getting into. It’s impossible to me that he didn’t consider what could have happened because there’s roast footage out there that you can watch and go, ‘They’re gonna go this hard.’ There’s a part of me that thinks that Tom Brady, especially given his career and how much people love him, no one’s ever said a bad thing to him in the past 30 years, so he doesn’t know what anyone’s capable of going there.”
