“He definitely puts you on guard. He’s an old-school guy. He’ll go up and smack a 60-year-old man in the ass, and it hurts.

“It’s those kinds of things that you just enjoy him — not that I enjoy getting smacked in the ass – but you enjoy his personality.”

Fans were perplexed by what Mike McCarthy said about Ezekiel Elliott:

Ezekiel Elliott was picked in the first round by the Cowboys in 2016 and has had multiple successful seasons. Elliott finished third in MVP voting as a rookie, after leading the league in yards. The 2018 season was just as successful, with the most rushing yards in the NFL.

He was released by the Cowboys in 2023 and signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots. After a down campaign, he is now headed back to his original team.

The Dallas Cowboys sorely needs him as they lost Tony Pollard in the offseason to the Tennessee Titans and they did not take a running back in the NFL Draft.

Elliott, on the other hand, may have had a greater impact on his colleagues, as he was a strong presence and someone who people admired. His bond with quarterback Dak Prescott is well documented, and the quarterback is overjoyed to have one of his closest friends back.

Ezekiel Elliott Finished With Career-Low In Yards During 2023 Season

Elliott is returning to Dallas after one season with the New England Patriots, where he finished with career lows across the board.

It was arguably his worst year statistically, with career lows in rushing yards (642), rushing touchdowns (3), yards per carry (3.5), rushing yards per game (37.8), and success rate (45.1%), per Wikipedia.

Skip Bayless Had An Epic Meltdown On “Undisputed” Over Cowboys’ Decision To Keep HC Mike McCarthy (VIDEO)

Skip Bayless reacting on FS1's

Well-known Dallas Cowboys superfan and critic Skip Bayless isn’t taking the Dallas Cowboys’ decision on Mike McCarthy so well.

On Wednesday, it was confirmed that owner Jerry Jones had decided to bring back McCarthy for a fifth year as the Cowboys’ head coach. Many thought McCarthy would be let go after another postseason meltdown, the latest one being a 48-32 home loss to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round.

During today’s edition of FS1’s “Undisputed” program, a fed-up Bayless went on a typical Skip Bayless-like rant and blasted the Cowboys for retaining McCarthy.

Let’s just say it was one of Bayless’ more hysterical rants in quite some time.

“Here we don’t gooooooooo! And there we went. If possible, I feel even worse today than I felt Sunday night. At least then, I had a metallic silver lining! At least Mike McCarthy was finally gone! Sorry, Cowboy nation. It’s April Fool’s in January when we’ve been made to look like fools for going on 30 Januarys!..

Continuing his rant, Bayless claimed that the Cowboys essentially dropped four of their final five games because the referees assisted them in their controversial Week 17 win over the Detroit Lions.

Bayless added that he isn’t sure if he should “laugh or cry at” Jones’ statement regarding his decision to retain McCarthy.

McCarthy has coached Dallas to three straight 12-win seasons, but Sunday’s loss to the Packers dropped him to 1-3 in the postseason as their head coach.

Then again, maybe we shouldn’t be overly surprised about Jones’ decision to keep McCarthy when you consider that Jason Garrett got 10 years as Dallas’ head coach despite notching just two postseason victories.
