The Chiefs traded up to pick Worthy at No. 28 overall last month after he put his electric pace on display at the NFL Scouting Combine. He joins a team with three-peat ambitions and will have a lot of pressure on his shoulders.

However, he will also be playing alongside the best quarterback in the game in Patrick Mahomes, while he will be coached by Andy Reid, who’s not too shabby either.

Still, Worthy didn’t get off to the greatest start in practice, and social media is crushing him for it.

Fox’s PJ Green posted videos of Worthy and Louis Rees-Zammit being put through their paces on Saturday. You can check them out right below:

Here’s how social media reacted:

The Chiefs Have High Hopes For Xavier Worthy

The Chiefs obviously feel very different about their new wideout.

“It’s a speed game and the more speed you have on the field, the harder it is for defenses to take away different elements of the game,” general manager Brett Veach said on the player’s potential after drafting him, per ESPN.

“Anytime you can add speed and add a guy with that type of versatility, I think you’re going to be interested. Just our ability to play vertical and have speed on the field at all times and having Xavier and Hollywood … I think as the season goes on here, I think we’ll have just an offense that can attack in multiple different ways and always keep defenses guessing.”

Xavier Worthy boasts remarkable speed, though his first minicamp rep didn’t go as planned, with a pass hitting right in the hands. Of course, it’s hardly a big deal, but fans on social media didn’t care.

The 21-year-old registered 75 receptions for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns in his final season with the Texas Longhorns. Chiefs fans will hope his rookie season puts his detractors to shame.
