Aaron Rodgers is considered one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks, and he has done nothing but prove that sentiment right. The 40-year-old signal caller already has a stacked resume, including four NFL MVP Awards and a Super Bowl championship.

However, it should be noted that Father Time is undefeated, especially after NFL fans witnessed the retirement of the greatest quarterback in the game, Tom Brady, just before 2023. This means it could happen to the Jets quarterback. Rodgers’s age of 40 also creates a more considerable risk for injuries and rehab.

It seems as though the New York Jets have already taken this into account after last season’s disappointing record, during which the four-time NFL MVP was lost to injury for the entire season, and Dallas Cowboys fans won’t be happy with the idea.

According to Lou Scataglia of NFL Spin Zone, the Jets, if they decide to move on from the controversial Rodgers in 2025 Free Agency, should target Dallas Cowboys starter Dak Prescott, who has notably been involved in trade talks due to the significant contract extension he is due before 2025.

Will The New York Jets Move On From Aaron Rodgers In 2025?

While it is improbable for the team to cut their Super Bowl-winning signal caller, there are some suggested scenarios where it could happen, and if it does, there will be a lot more at stake than just Aaron Rodgers.

Unfortunately, for the team to cut Rodgers straight up in 2025, they would have to take on a whopping $49 million in dead cap money, which would hamper the team in 2025 and most likely remove Prescott from the equation.

Thinking logistically about the scenario, the Jets would have to have a horrible season to cause the front office to fire head coach Adam Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas and cut Aaron Rodgers, warranting a completely new team for 2025.

Crazier things have happened in the NFL, and it would be quite an exciting off-season if the Jets were to miss the playoffs with Rodgers and company once again. However, NFL fans are just going to have to wait and see as the 2024 season kicks off in September.

Aaron Rodgers Reunites With Interesting Wide Receiver Option In Curious Trade Proposal

A trade that would see Aaron Rodgers reunited with an old teammate has been proposed for the New York Jets ahead of the quarterback’s second season with the team.

The Jets have done everything they can to put Rodgers in a position to succeed, but they could possibly get a bit more done in that regard.

Bleacher Report’s Christopher Knox recently outlined some trade ideas that reunite QBs with receivers they once played alongside. While much has been made over an Aaron Rodgers-Davante Adams reunion, Knox points to Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

“Naturally, many fans may want to link the Jets to former Green Bay Packers No. 1 receiver Davante Adams, but that’s not realistic,” Knox explains. “However, the Jets might be able to land another of Rodgers’ former Packers targets, if they’re willing to wait until the end of the summer. … [Valdes-Scantling] spent four seasons with Rodgers in Green Bay and could be a capable ancillary target for the Jets.”

While MVS wouldn’t be considered a marquee acquisition, such a trade would give the Jets some enviable depth at the receiver position.

MVS Enjoyed Some Of His Best Years Playing With Aaron Rodgers

The wideout was a fifth-round pick in 2018 but made a name for himself, earning decent playing time as a rookie before having a breakout year in 2020. He led the NFL in yards per reception with 20.9 while registering 690 yards and six touchdowns.

He signed a three-year deal worth $30 million with the Kansas City Chiefs after four impressive years with the Green Bay Packers. He didn’t continue in the same vein once in KC but was responsible for some key plays amid two Super Bowl runs.

The Chiefs released him as a cap casualty in February. He signed a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills in May.
