Everything Kim Kardashian does breaks the internet, so it’s only fitting that her and her daughter North West joining TikTok would pique the world’s interest. Nearly every video the mother-daughter duo has posted on TikTok since joining the app in November 2021 has gone viral.
The mom of four’s posts with her daughter have been met with criticism, of course, but a majority of her fans are happy to see Kim’s “relatable” side. It’s a side of the billionaire fans hadn’t seen in a while, most likely thanks to her emotionally draining divorce from Kanye West. She’s often goofy in the videos with North, wearing limited makeup and dressed in loungewear around her house.
North has also seemingly gained more creative control over the account as she ages. The account often posts videos featuring just North or North and her close friends, and when Kim pops on, it seems like North is in the director’s seat. Most recently, the pair shared a video where Kim was featured neighing like a horse, which seems like a North West original. While the family is known for sharing everything about their lives with their fans, does Kim’s mom Kris Jenner approve of her daughter and granddaughters’ TikTok escapades?
What Has Kris Jenner Said About Her Grandchildren Being On TikTok?
Kris Jenner has never directly commented on her grandchildren being on TikTok. Considering North has filmed multiple TikToks at her grandma’s Palm Springs home and different family gatherings, it’s safe to say she trusts Kim’s judgment. Kris knows that Kim is an incredibly protective mother and wouldn’t put North in harm’s way.
Ye, known to most by his former name Kanye West, has had the biggest problem with North and her siblings being on TikTok. The rapper has publicly announced his disapproval of his children’s presence on the app multiple times. Taking to Instagram one day, he claimed that North was on TikTok against his will and asked his follower what to do about it.
Kim has tried to maintain her neutrality when it comes to responding to her ex-husband’s hateful messages, but in rare occasions, she will speak out. When Ye claimed the couple’s kids were on TikTok against his will, Kim did not take Ye’s attack lightly. “Kanye’s constant attacks on me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create,” said Kim via her Instagram story.
Does Kim Kardashian Have Rules Around Her Kid’s Use Of TikTok?
Kim Kardashian is well aware of the danger social media poses. The Skims founder has gone out of her way to ensure the TikTok account she shares with her daughter North is a safe space for the young artist. The accounts comment section has been turned off, and the bio states that an adult manages the account. That means that although North West is the primary content creator for the page, an adult will preview any content she sends out via TikTok.
Harboring a safe and nurturing environment for her children has been pivotal since her divorce. The mother of four has been working harder than ever to ensure her children remain as unaffected as possible by the continued public malignment she’s faced from their father.
“As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision — because it brings her happiness,” said Kim via her Instagram story.
Even though the account is called KimAndNorth, all four of Kim’s children have been featured on it. North has posted several videos with her sister Chicago, one in which the two records each other doing their edges. North constantly encourages her sister throughout the video, with many fans commenting on Twitter about how sweet the documented encounter between the two siblings was.
Via: TheThingsNorth’s cousin, Penelope Disick, also has a TikTok account. She shares the account with her mother, Kourtney Kardashian. The account has 5.4 million followers, with the bio also stating that it’s managed by an adult. Kourtney and Penelope post together less frequently than Kim and North, but a handful of videos from the account show off sweet moments between the mother-daughter pair.
Penelope’s account seems to be more dedicated to Penelope’s skincare routines and sharing fun moments she has with friends. Penelope also likes to cook and shares videos of her homemade snacks from time to time. Her father, Scott Disick, has also been featured on the account.
Does Kris Jenner Have Her Own TikTok Account?
The matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner family, Kris Jenner, does have a TikTok account. The momager has 3.7 million followers on the app and over 26.3 million likes on her videos. Her first post on the app actually far pre-dates North and Kim’s account, with Kris Jenner posting on the app all the way back in February 2019.
Kris uses her TikTok account similarly to her other social media accounts. She posts a lot of promotional videos for The Kardashians and birthday shout-out compilations for her famous family members. She and Kylie also used TikTok to reveal the second Kris Collection at Kylie Cosmetics in 2022.
There was even the infamous “Krissed” TikTok trend in 2022, where a bait-and-switch tactic was put into use by users. Users would post something attention-grabbing, and just as viewers began to believe it, the video would suddenly cut to an old video of Kris dancing to a sped-up version of the song Lady Marmalade. “You just got Krissed. Send this to your friends to totally Kris them,” would be in the caption or overlaying on the video. Essentially, it’s the modern-day equivalent to getting rickrolled.
Kris even joined in on the trend, posting a video to her account that first read “Kris Jenner 2024 Presidential Candidate,” the image quickly changed to the iconic Krissed video, and fans loved that Kris was in on the joke with them all.
