Kansas City Chiefs and former Alabama football star Isaiah Buggs was arrested in Tuscaloosa Sunday, and this latest stint behind bars may end his career.
Buggs was arrested at the scene on charges of second-degree domestic violence and second-degree assault. He was on a 24-hour domestic violence hold with a bond set at $5,000 and was released on Monday.
More information has since come out on what happened, and the details are terrible.
Isaiah Buggs has been accused of dragging the mother of his child down a set of steps and injuring her, according to a report from TMZ.
Following the alleged assault, Buggs would leave the scene in a white Cadillac after she told him she was calling the police.
Court documents show an officer found evidence that someone broke into an apartment with a tire iron. The police documents later stated Buggs was located in a parking lot at a nearby Little Caesars.

His agent did release a statement following Buggs’ arrest on the animal cruelty charges.
“Isaiah vehemently denies the truthfulness of the allegations and charges asserted against him today. Under no circumstance does Mr. Buggs condone the mistreatment of any animal. The dogs at issue did not belong to him, and he was unaware they remained at the property in question,” Trey Robinson said in part.
Tuscaloosa Judge Revokes Isaiah Buggs’ Bond After Recent Arrest
Kansas City Chiefs backup defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs got some bad news after a Tuscaloosa judge revoked his bond in an animal cruelty case. The decision came mere hours after Buggs bonded out of jail on unrelated accusations.
He was ordered held without bond.

Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs has responded to today’s reports regarding the shocking accusations against him.
Buggs, who won his first Super Bowl after signing with the Chiefs in January, has been accused of animal cruelty, with two dogs being found on a porch without access to food and water at a residence where he lived in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
He is also the subject of a pair of warrants.
The player released a statement through his agent, Trey Robinson, denying the allegations and accusing the Tuscaloosa police of harassment.
According to Buggs, Tuscaloosa and its police department are trying to get him to close his hookah lounge in the city and have employed some shady tactics.

“Isaiah vehemently denies the truthfulness of the allegations and charges asserted against him today,” a statement shared with NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reads. “Under no circumstance does Mr. Buggs condone the mistreatment of any animal. The dogs at issue did not belong to him and he was unaware they remained at the property in question.
“Furthermore, we believe the City of Tuscaloosa’s decision to file the charges today is part of a concerted effort by the City of Tuscaloosa and its Police Department to besmirch Mr. Buggs’ name and reputation as part of an on-going subservice campaign to force the close of his local business Kings Hookah Lounge.”
Kansas City Chiefs Isaiah Buggs Has Also Accused Tuscaloosa Police Of Threats
Robinson also claimed that Buggs had been arrested twice within the last few months, yet no record of the arrests was made. He alleged that the authorities were trying to use the incidents as leverage in their push to have his lounge shut down.
“These efforts are not new as Mr. Buggs was arrested at his business on misdemeanor charges on two separate occasions in the past two months, but each time no public record was made of these arrests. Rather, the City used the threat of pursuing and publicizing both the allegations filed today and these arrests as leverage against Mr. Buggs by offering to drop and not pursue them in exchange for his voluntary surrender of his business license.
“Mr. Buggs declined the City’s offer as he has serious concerns about the City’s and Police Department’s motivation for deciding to target his business, which he plans to bring to light as part of his defense of the allegations and charges filed against him and his reputation and business.”
As mentioned above, Buggs joined the Chiefs this January. He was signed to the practice squad but was part of the roster that won the Super Bowl the following month.
He signed a reserve/futures contract at the end of the season.
