Britain’s Got Talent viewers think they know the tricks behind the latest magic act’s performance on the ITV series.
In a big surprise, four former illusionists from the talent series returned and united together for an epic performance. Ben Hart and Elizabeth both did well on the show in 2019, with Elizabeth terrifying judge Amanda Holden with a scary trick.
Colin Cloud auditioned for the show in 2012, before doing much better on the American series in 2017. Aidan McCann has been on both BGT and Ireland’s Got Talent. Now they’re all back for another go, this time together as Magicians Assemble.
The group claimed to be returning from the future via time travel, vowing to save magic. They claimed they could prove time travel existed as they had seen certain events before, including what cards the judges would pick from a deck once prompted.
Bruno Tonioli, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Simon Cowell were all left stunned by what happened throughout the audition, from card tricks, predicted numbers and Aidan suddenly appearing on stage out of thin air. The act even ended with judge Simon disappearing from the room, leaving his co-stars concerned.
It all kicked off with the card trick, with Ben confirming which cards the judges had before they even picked them. Then as Amanda and Alesha rolled a dice each, they had no idea that those numbers shown on the top of the dice would be important.

Suddenly their timer containing sand was poured into Elizabeth’s hand, only for it to transform into fog. The missing sand then appeared in a tea cup Amanda had been told to hold.
Following that, a huge amount of sand appeared to fall from the ceiling to the stage, only for the trio to expand with a fourth member, a child named Aidan. Aidan then headed down to join Ben with the judges, and this is when things got very weird.
The numbers revealed previously by the cards and dice as well as a page number were all picked at random. But as Aidan began shaving Ben’s head, a tattoo appeared at the back of his head and it was those exact numbers.
Alesha checked the tattoo was real as all the judges gasped. It wasn’t over though as Simon was called to the stage and blindfolded, and he appeared to disappear and turn into bits of paper.
Viewers tuning in at home were quick to claim they knew who certain parts of the act were done. Some viewers claimed to have spotted a fake thumb used to aid some of the trickery, as others noticed “invisible” cards.

As for the tattoo on the head, viewers suggested Ben probably had other sets of numbers elsewhere that would have been revealed if the numbers were different. As for the disappearing and appearing people, that was put down to backstage trickery.
One viewer said on X: “Fake thumbs are always a good un,” as another agreed: “The plastic thumb trick, i had in my magic set when i was 8. Awful.” Another fan said: “Spotted the fake thumb,” while one viewer said of the numbers: “They must just shave his head dependant on which numbers come up.”
A viewer added of the cards: “First trick invisible deck, top half one card, bottom half the other. Book was a svengali book. Almost every trick on this show uses those two methods.” On the dice trick, someone asked: “Nobody’s heard of loaded dice before?”
