His enthusiasm reminded us every day of why we love sports. Most significantly, Darren was a friend to all of us at TSN, and we will miss him dearly. The world woke up to the tragic news that former SportsCenter host Darren Dutchyshen had died at age 57, but he lived out the rest of his days doing what he does best.

Before his untimely death, Darren was outspoken about his battle with prostate cancer, which pushed him to take a break from anchoring SportsCentre in 2021.

When he went back on the television a year later, he disclosed that the cancer was still there all over his body. He claimed that yet, he was driven to work.
