Swift delighted fans in the cold and wet of northern England

IT’S usually his girlfriend Taylor Swift making the fashion statements.

But Travis Kelce stole some of the attention for himself when the Kansas City Chiefs superstar arrived for a Super Bowl ring ceremony in an all-red suit.

“Smooth operator baby,” the tight end said as he walked down the red carpet on Thursday.

Chiefs beat writer Matt Derrick reported on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, that Kelce was asked what inspired the look.

“Chiefs Kingdom, baby,” he responded.

Some fans may have thought there was a Swift link to his choice of clothes.

Swift became synonymous with the color red after dropping an album of the same name in 2012.

There was plenty of red doing the rounds at the event actually.

That included from Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany, who wore a red dress.

Fans were given a sneak peek inside the event by Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Chiefs owner Clark Hunt.

The impressive looking event featured Lombardi Trophy statues.

Swift meanwhile continued to wow crowds on her Eras tour.

She was at Liverpool soccer club’s Anfield stadium for a concert on Thursday, the first of three at the venue.

It was an unseasonably cold and wet night but that didn’t stop the party atmosphere.

Swift told her adoring fans, “You’re giving us a gift!”

It will be interesting to see how many games Swift attends when the 2024 NFL season kicks off in September.

She saw Kelce play a number of times live in the 2023 campaign.

Diamonds are forever

Kansas City’s newest Super Bowl rings feature 529 diamonds, 38 rubies and a nod to their game-winning play.

The Chiefs flashed their latest piece of jewelry at a special ceremony on Thursday, June 13.

The new bling features the years of Kansas City’s Super Bowl wins – 1969, 2019, 2022 and 2023.

It also has a handwritten drawing of Andy Reid’s ‘Tom and Jerry’ play which won Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Kansas City beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime in February.

And the rings feature 22 diamonds to represent the points Kansas City scored in the second half and overtime.

Nineteen diamonds also represent their 11 straight winning seasons and eight AFC West titles in a row.

While there is also commemorative patch for the late Norma Hunt, the matriarch of the family which owns the Chiefs who died last summer.

That included February’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

She rushed from Tokyo to watch the Chiefs come back to beat the San Francisco 49ers.

It was a third Super Bowl victory in five years for the remarkable Chiefs.

The team will be chasing an historic three-peat of Super Bowls when the new season kicks off in September.

The Chiefs will begin their 2024 campaign against the Baltimore Ravens.
