February 5, 2024: Travis praises Taylor’s new album and responds to engagement question.

Kelce praises Swift’s upcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department, and admits he has heard bits of it, during a press conference on Super Bowl LVIII Opening Night in Las Vegas.

“I have heard some of it, yes, and it’s unbelievable,” the football star said. “I can’t wait for her to shake up the world when it finally drops.”

Swift announced the new album at the Grammys on Sunday, and revealed it will be out on April 19. She released the track list on February 5.

“She’ll probably hate me for saying this, but … when she came to Arrowhead, they gave her the big locker room as a dressing room, and her little cousins were taking pictures … in front of my locker,” he recalls.

As for their first meeting, Kelce reveals, “When I met her in New York, we had already kind of been talking, so I knew we could have a nice dinner and, like, a conversation, and what goes from there will go from there.”

Kelce also says in the interview that he has “never dated anyone with that kind of aura about them” before the 12-time Grammy winner. “I’ve never dealt with it,” he says. “But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it … the scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that, I better not be the one acting all strange.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Kelce calls his new girlfriend “hilarious” and “a genius,” and reveals that he and the superstar share a similar outlook on family, work, and life. “Everybody knows I’m a family guy,” he says. “Her team is her family. Her family does a lot of stuff in terms of the tour, the marketing, being around, so I think she has a lot of those values as well, which is right up my alley.”

November 15, 2023: Travis talks about meeting Taylor’s dad.

On the latest episode of their New Heights podcast, Kelce and brother Jason talk about the now-infamous moment when Swift’s dad, Scott Swift, was captured on video wearing a Kansas City Chiefs lanyard at one of her Eras Tour shows in Argentina—despite being a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan.

“Got him over to the good side, baby,” Travis teases. “Just one by one, getting all the good ones to come on over.”

“What are we doing, Scott?” jokes Jason, who plays for the Eagles. “You’re gonna let this man’s devilish good looks and relationship with your daughter sway you from a lifetime of fandom, Scott? Ridiculous.”

“I might have persuaded him at dinner the night before. When I met him,” Travis reveals.

At this point, Travis and Taylor have very publicly met each other’s families, and a source tells Entertainment Tonight that a full family get-together, with all four of their parents, is set to happen this coming Monday, when the Eagles and the Chiefs face off.

November 13, 2023: Travis’s mom shows her support for Taylor.

Kelce’s mom, Donna, is spotted by fans at a screening of Swift’s Eras Tour concert film in Florida. A fan, Dannielle Sparks, excitedly recounts the encounter on TikTok, sharing a photo she got with Donna. In the photo, Sparks wears a blue 1989-branded cardigan from Swift’s recent merch drop, which apparently Donna told her she also owns. (See the video and photo here.) Sparks says in the clip that she also helped take a photo of Donna and her friend in front of Swift’s movie poster, as the football player’s mom said, “I need to send this to Travis.”

Donna’s show of support for Swift comes some weeks after Kelce’s dad, Ed, told Entertainment Tonight of the singer, “She’s very down to earth, very genuine. She doesn’t put on airs or anything like that. … The ‘girl next door’ is an overused term, but she really is.” He added, “I mean, she’s been, you know, performing for huge crowds for over half her life, and for someone to be so grounded, and so normal—I mean, I hate to use that word. But other people aren’t.”

Kelce attends Swift’s sold-out Eras Tour concert at Buenos Aires’s Estadio Monumental on Saturday, and she puts on quite a show. In addition to delivering a stellar performance, the pop singer surprises her beau—and the adoring crowd—with some post-show PDA and an onstage shout-out.
