Ever since the Lakers drafted Bronny James, basketball enthusiasts have started pointing out how his father, LeBron, utilized his connections to get his son through. As the nepotism remark peaked, some big names came out in the young guard’s defense. One of them was the American rapper Rick Ross.

Lashing out at the critics in a video, the hip-hopper stated, “Nepotism-Nepotism. You all making me sick, every two years you’all coming up with a new word. ‘The Narrative’, ‘Toxicity’, ‘Toxic’, now it is Nepotism. 85% all you motherf**kers got a job by somebody you know.”

The LA franchise announced Bronny’s name on the second draft night. However, that didn’t come as a surprise to many, as they believed LeBron, being a star of the franchise, would influence the decision-making process.

Calling those people out in the clip, Ross reminded them that their employment could be a result of their connections as well. The rapper suggested that Bronny show some of LeBron’s celebratory moves to his critics.

While the James family hasn’t reacted to the remarks, many others came in support of the 19-year-old.

Patrick Mahomes Shows Support for Bronny James

The Bronny James topic has moved beyond the basketball territory and reached. On the following day of his drafting, the Chiefs‘ Patrick Mahomes was spotted showing his approval for the move.

The Chiefs QB retweeted a post shared by Bleacher Report that featured LeBron and little Bronny with a caption, “NOW THEY’RE TEAMMATES. WHAT A MOMENT.” While social media fans seem quite upset with the Lakers’ decision, the latter has received a green signal from the NFL star.

LeBron has reportedly finalized his plans to continue with the Lakers. The 39-year-old is thrilled to play in the Purple and Gold jersey with his eldest son, Bronny. Hopefully, the father-son duo will be able to create magical moments on the hardwood and set untouchable records in the upcoming season. That seems like the only way to convert their haters into supporters.
