LeBron James and Stephen Curry playing together is one of the top 3 things any basketball fan would want to see. While the two will be joining forces next month in the Paris Olympics, they’ve never played together before. And by the looks of it, not everyone is keen on that prospect.

Former NBA Champion, Andre Iguodala recently shut down the possibility of LeBron joining the Warriors to make the much-anticipated super team. Since Kevin Durant left for the Nets in 2019, there hasn’t been another superteam in the league of that magnitude. On the “Point Forward” podcast, Igoudala raised concerns over LeBron’s age. “Bron’s 40 years old, so I’m not considering that a superteam. They got to get everything out of themselves, every ounce to get there,” Iguodala said when Evan Turner proposed Curry and Bron for his superteam.

Iguodala put the Warriors team of his time in the context to explain how their superteam actually felt like a superteam. “Our superteam was like, man, we can play B-minus we still gonna win. We can play C-plus we still gonna win,” said the 4-time NBA champion.

With LeBron’s future up in the smoke, rumors about the Lakers forward picked up momentum in the offseason. With a player option of $51 million going into the 2024/25 season, LBJ is yet to make a decision. But that could soon change.

When Will LeBron James Announce His Decision?

The major belief around the league about LeBron’s future is that the 39-year-old is waiting for the 2024 NBA Draft. His agent, Rich Paul, has already doubled down on the matter that Bronny James’ draft has nothing to do with LeBron’s next move, but that is not something anyone would buy. Given LeBron’s strong desire to share the court with his son, the Draft could have major implications.

According to Sportac, LeBron can decline the player option in his contract and sign a new deal which will earn him almost $162 million.

Given the problem that LeBron will only be eligible for a veteran extension (barring a contract from a few teams) if he joins a team via free agency, it is a big indication that he will remain with the Lakers.

But when is he announcing it? If the Lakers draft Bronny on Wednesday, we might get an announcement after that. With the free agency window deadline approaching fast, the ball is on the Lakers’ court to make their first move.
