Kevin Durant could be on the move yet again.

On Tuesday night, the Brooklyn Nets reacquired their 2026 first-round pick from the Houston Rockets in exchange for a 2027 first-round pick via the Phoenix Suns.

The Rockets also reportedly gave up their right to swap picks with the Nets in 2025, as they originally acquired the pick and swap from the Nets in 2021 as part of the James Harden trade.

As of right now, Houston will draft No. 3 in Wednesday’s draft via the Harden trade, or they may not due to the most recent reports.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the deal the Rockets made with the Nets allows Brooklyn to control its own draft in 2025 and 2026 as it enters a rebuild. Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets are trying to position themselves to make a blockbuster trade for Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant.

It should be noted that Wojnarowski said the Suns have remained steadfast in wanting to make another run with Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal to see if the trio can get things done.

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst explained further on the Rockets’ attempts to get Kevin Durant.

“[The Houston Rockets] are interested in tempting the Suns to try to trade them Kevin Durant now,” Windhorst said. “They don’t want to do this later. They want to put this on the table to see if the Suns would be tempted by it.”

Last year on Phoenix, the Big 3 of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal could never really get things going and would get swept by the Timberwolves in the first round of the playoffs. The franchise would then fire head coach Frank Vogel, replacing him with former Bucks guide Mike Budenholzer.

Durant might be 35, but he has posted at least 25.1 points per game since his second year in the league, via basketball reference.
