Anyone who has kept up with the NFL over the past few seasons knows that current Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson has had one of the most polarizing career stories.

The unfortunate “downfall,” as some would call it, only continued last season after the Browns’ leading signal caller suffered a season-ending shoulder injury during a week three matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. The injury required surgery.

Fans wondered why the former NFL Pro Bowler participated in a charity softball game for teammate David Njoku. The Browns’ signal caller collided with teammate Zaire Mitchell-Paden while playing first base during the game.

Reporter Mary Kay Cabot posted to X, stating, “Deshaun Watson just gave the crowd at David Njoku’s softball game a scare.” Cabot added, “He got up and signaled he was fine and had been greeting fans at the dugout.”

Deshaun Watson Could Be Back To Pro Bowl Next Season

The reported play gave some fans very mixed reactions. Some were happy, some were upset, and others were just flat-out confused as to why the gunslinger participated in the game in the first place after a season-ending surgery requiring injury.

One fan joked that he was “going to need a massage” after the injury scare, while another commented that Watson would have it be a “no-no in his contract.” According to his participation in the game, that’s apparently not the case for the former Pro Bowl quarterback.

Watson finished last season with seven touchdowns and five interceptions, along with 1115 yards in just three games, and it seems like Browns fans are hoping their guy can get back to his All-Pro form.

Back in 2021, Deshaun Watson’s relationship with longtime girlfriend Jilly Anais hit a significant bump in the road amid allegations of sexual misconduct from 22 women against the NFL quarterback, per ESPN.com.

Jilly took a break from social media but returned with a strong statement about the couple’s relationship status. In the post, she was pictured raising two middle fingers and a mean mug to the camera while on vacation with Watson.

Watson has been with Anais for years, following her tumultuous split from former Spurs point guard Dejounte Murray in 2018.
