The Green Bay Packers have to feel good going into the 2024 season, and one current player would love for Davante Adams to feel the same way.

The Las Vegas Raiders’ All-Pro wide receiver, Davante Adams, missed out on the playoffs for a second straight season.

Making things worse is the Las Vegas Raiders losing their starting running back this offseason when Josh Jacobs signed with the Green Bay Packers in free agency — and it appears he at least floated the idea of Davante Adams returning to his old team.

Jacobs claimed that after signing with the veteran wide receiver’s last team, he texted Adams to inquire if he was considering returning during Wednesday’s Packers OTAs.

“When I came out here … I sent him the little eyes emoji,” Jacobs said. “I said, ‘You thinking about coming back?’ But man, he loved it.”

Prior to the 2022 season, Adams was moved to the Raiders after spending the first eight seasons of his career with the Packers. However, he is not as consistent as he was in Green Bay, where he was a part of one of the greatest tandems in team history with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is currently with the New York Jets. The six-time Pro Bowler finished with over 1,000 receiving yards in both of his seasons in Las Vegas.

If Davante Adams wanted to leave Sin City, it wouldn’t be easy for him to do so because he has two more non-guaranteed years left on his deal and is scheduled to make $25.3 million in the 2024 season.

In an interview with Raiders teammate Maxx Crosby last month on The Rush with Maxx Crosby, Adams stated that even if his “career went to s–t” after leaving Green Bay, he will “never regret anything” (the interview begins at the 1:50 mark).

Adams has made it quite clear that he’s going to stay on the Raiders and doesn’t want to be dealt.

He did, however, express his admiration for Packers quarterback Jordan Love while also saying he had no regrets about leaving the team.

“At the time when I was (in Green Bay), I hadn’t necessarily seen enough to say this is for sure what I should do,” Adams said of his decision to leave via NFL.com. “But in hindsight, like we talked about, (Love) is a f—— baller, man. I’m so happy for him.

“I haven’t really had a chance to truly sit down and talk with him, but I want to tell him at some point like, ‘I definitely don’t regret changing [teams], but I’m super proud of what you’ve done. If there’s a way I could pull you over here [to Las Vegas] and drag you with me like that, that would’ve been cool, too.’

“Obviously, we saw what he did at the end of the year. I don’t regret what I did, but, at the same time, it’s definitely you look back on it like, ‘damn, that boy kind of balling right now.’”

Davante Adams’ Latest Comments Suggest He Wants To Play For The Green Bay Packers Again

Following his tag by the Green Bay Packers, All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams was confronted with a pivotal choice that would affect his future in the 2022 offseason.

Although Adams was considering inking a new, long-term contract with the Packers, he decided to seek a trade to the Raiders in order to reunite with his best friend from Fresno State, Derek Carr, as he was unable to get a commitment from Aaron Rodgers on whether he would be staying with the team long-term.

Unfortunately, Carr was only around to play with Adams for one season, a year in which he led the NFL with 14 receiving touchdowns. However, the Raiders went 6-11 and missed the postseason. They would then bench and cut Carr the following offseason.

Vegas then signed former 49ers starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in 2023, but head coach Josh McDaniels would be fired, and Jimmy G would get benched for rookie fourth-round pick Aidan O’Connell. Jimmy G was also cut.

These moves have led Davante Adams to be asked if he “regrets” leaving the Packers.

“I don’t regret what I did, but, at the same time, it’s definitely you look back on it like ‘damn that boy (Jordan Love) kind of balling right now,’” Adams said (first transcribed by ProFootballTalk).

In the meantime, Jordan Love has played like a franchise quarterback, especially last season when he threw 32 regular season touchdown passes, which were the second-most in the NFL, and he helped lead the seventh-seeded Packers to a 48-32 blowout playoff road win over the

second-seeded Dallas Cowboys. He then nearly led another upset the following week against the eventual NFC champion San Francisco 49ers in a 24-21 defeat in the NFC Divisional round.

For Davante Adams, he has watched as the Raiders signed Pro Bowler Gardner Minshew II in free agency, joining Aidan O’Connell in the QB room. The team did not draft a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Raiders have yet to win a playoff game since reaching the Super Bowl in the 2002 season, making just two playoff appearances in 21 seasons since then.

Raiders receiver Davante Adams has not been in the playoffs with the team, but it isn’t because of a lack of trying.

Adams produced 100 receptions for 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns in his first campaign with the Raiders in 2022 following a trade from Green Bay and had 103 receptions for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns last season.
